Deal of the Day: Dracula X Chronicles for $20

Posted Nov 29th 2007 10:00AM by Andrew Yoon
Filed under: Software

Update: Our previous post regarding $10 off PS3/PSP games at amazon.com was taken down, due to codes being one time use only. Sorry for the confusion.

Thankfully, another deal has sprung up in its place. You can get Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for only $20. It earned an 8.5 from PSP Fanboy's Nick Doerr, who said "if you love Castlevania, this is the definitive game to get."

Puzzle Quest for $9.99. Some things are great together: puzzle and RPG elements, peanut butter and jelly, and dicks and boxes.
The Getaway for $9.99. It's cheaper than buying it on the PLAYSTATION Store.
And MLB 2005 for $4.99 ... if you really want an old sports game that features old rosters (but the same gameplay ... )

The UMD format might be dead, but that doesn't mean you can't pick on its remains for cheap! Great movies, like Ghostbusters, Kung Fu Hustle, and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children are all available for $5 each. Check out the massive selection at GameStop here. With PSP-2000's ability to output video at full DVD resolution, these deals taste even better.

Deal of the Day: Castlevania free with Star Wars PSP

Posted Nov 3rd 2007 10:00AM by Chris Powell

Some deals are good, and sometimes they get even better; like the one going on right now at Frys.com that gets you a free copy of Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles with the purchase of a Star Wars PSP.

Earler last month, you could get both for $185 at Frys, saving $15 overall, but this deal nets you a $30 savings.

Both titles have received favorable reviews with Nick giving Castlevania an 8.5 and Andrew rating Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron a 7.5. If you're like me and haven't jumped at the opportunity to pick up a PSP-2000 yet, this is the best deal so far.

Deal of the Day: PaRappa and SOCOM half off

Posted Nov 2nd 2007 2:30PM by Andrew Yoon

Toys R Us is having a rather mediocre "door buster" sale right now, which includes two PSP games at half off. SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 and PaRappa the Rapper are available for cheap: $10 and $15 respectively.

PaRappa is available online, but SOCOM is not.

Deal of the Day: PSP component cables for $10

Posted Oct 24th 2007 6:00PM by Andrew Yoon

You need component cables to take advantage of the TV out capabilities of the new PSP-2000. So, why not get the cables for cheap? MonoPrice, a specialty retailer, is somehow selling these babies at under $10, before shipping. Of course, for the best deal, you'll want to order 50 ...

Remember: component cables will only work on EDTV/HDTV systems. Regular TVs can not display game content.

Deal of the Day: Naruto for $30

Namco Bandai's PSP-exclusive fighter, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes is getting a one-day price drop on amazon.com. Although $30 isn't the best bargain, that's still $10 cheaper than the norm. PSP Fanboy reviewed the game, noting that it's a pretty solid game for fans of the popular Shonen Jump series. "Fans of the anime will appreciate the amount of characters and their unique moves, the ninja-y fun of using substitutions and special jutsus, and the use of the original voice actors from the anime. Is Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes a worthy purchase for Naruto fans? Believe it!"

Deal of the Day: Star Wars PSP for $185, Castlevania for $21

This isn't going to last very long. FRYS.com is having a one day sale, and there are some terrific PSP deals. The two that are most noteworthy: the discounted Star Wars Battlefront PSP, which includes the Darth Vader PSP and new Renegade Squadron game, is only $185 -- $15 cheaper than normal. Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles also comes in cheap, for only $21. Considering the game includes both a remade Rondo of Blood and enhanced Symphony of the Night, this might be one of the best video game deals ever. Yes, even better than The Orange Box.

Deal of the Day: $10 PSP cleaning cloth & case

Posted Aug 25th 2007 2:15PM by Nick Doerr
Filed under: Peripherals

There are some websites that simply continue to spoil us gamers time and time again. We've been alerted to a special deal going on where you can nab a new PSP accessory carrying case and cleaning cloth for the discounted price of $10. A few people mentioned they've seen something like this much cheaper, but if you're tired of carrying around a cleaning cloth, headphones, memory stick, camera periperal, or a few loose UMD's in your cargo pockets, the case might prove worth organizing yourself. Otherwise, if you only game portably at home, there's not much reason to pick this up.

Deal of the Day: 4GB Memory Stick for $35

Posted Aug 21st 2007 2:30PM by Andrew Yoon
Filed under: Peripherals

The 4GB Memory Stick Duo Pro continues to slowly lose a few dollars in price. Back in June, we were able to score a 4GB stick for $40 ... now we can get one for $5 less: $35. If you don't have a Memory Stick yet (maybe you're waiting for the new redesigned PSP?), getting a large capacity stick is crucial to having fun with the system. We're quite pleased with the amount of music, videos and demos the 4GB card can hold (although we're keeping an eye out on the 8GB Memory Stick!).

Go to FRYS.com to take advantage of this great deal.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 caused near-riots in Japan, as fervent Japanese fans grabbed over a million copies of this PSP action RPG. Will it do the same in America? Unlikely. But, just in case -- you may want to pre-order.

Gamestop is offering a bonus plush with pre-order, but for Cheap Ass Gamers that want to save a buck (or ten), you'll want to check out Overstock: they're offering the pre-order for only $30, $10 cheaper than retail price. And really, who doesn't like saving money?
