While we'd love to get our hands on a
8GB Memory Stick Duo, our wallets cringe at the sight of its steep price tag. Thankfully, 4GB cards continue to plummet in price.
Fry's is offering a Lexar stick for only $40, including shipping. 4GB is more than enough space, even for videophiles that like to encode their videos in full resolution. As these sticks continue to slowly decline in price, one wonders when a 8GB card will be as affordable as this.

True enough ... I might have a 40GB iPod with loads of my CD's (but even then not all) but I can manage fine with a 1GB Shuffle ...
But 4GB for $40 ... that is amazing in terms of how the prices have declined in the 2 years or so the PSP launched ...

what kind of speed are we looking at with this card? sandisk has the sd, ultra 2, gaming, rapidx, extreme 3 and more. as far as loading games and such from the card id like something at least comparable to the sandisk rapidx gaming card.

I got my 4gb SONY from Rogers, as part of their free memory upgrade for their cell phones. For each music-capable phone you can order a free 4gb mspd or 2gb m2... and people said Canada sucks. :P

This sounds like a great deal, but I had a Lexar 2GB card and the front of it cracked after about one month of use. I have a 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB Sandisk and have never had any problems. Just giving you my experience for what it is worth.

I saw the title and immediately pulled out my Debit card ready to type in the numbers. This is an amazing reduction in price given that 4 and 8gb pro duo cards were still on the drawing board at the beginning of last year. I remember only mere months ago when a 2gb card would run you an insane amount of money. Hopefully they will introduce a 10 or 12gb card to push the current prices down even further.

Damn, I bought mine for $80 6 months ago. What sony should do is uses this type of flash memory for psp2 games (next gen psp) They could probably even use 8GB if it's cheap enough by then; equaling a larger capacity and faster load times than UMD. (They could even make it proprietary if they want)
