Not the 1UP Show visits the Star Wars PSP launch
A terrific episode of the Not the 1UP Show chronicles the launch of the Star Wars Battlefront PSP. Obviously, tons of Star Wars nerds came geeked out in their favorite cosplay, trying to get their hands on this limited edition system. We really love the Star Wars-esque presentation of the video, and think it's a great way to end your work week. Enjoy!

UK PSP-2000 launch surges sales
According to a Sony representative, the PSP-2000, which launched in the UK Sept. 14, sold four times what the "old" PSPs did in the previous week. "We are very happy with the launch of Slim and Lite," a Sony rep said to MCV. "We expected sales in previous weeks to be low as we moved old stock through the channel."
As you all know, the next hurdle for Sony is to continue the momentum its built. But with so many great games on the horizon, the PSP-2000 could very well be the big hit this Christmas.
The mob lines up for Monster Hunter
We knew it was going to be big ... but now you can see the frantic crowds trying to grab a copy of the PSP action game, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd. The crowds were so big, you'd think that another console was launching. See more of the chaos and mayhem over at Famitsu.
Of course, will the game meet such incredible fanfare here in the States? Unlikely. But, Japan is where the PSP is struggling the greatest, in comparison to the DS. Certainly, this will give a much-needed boost to our platform over in the land of the rising sun. With US sales toe-to-toe with Nintendo's portable, and this highly successful launch, can anyone really say the PSP is dead?

Pink PSP party photos
If you ever wanted to be a Japanese chick magnet, then you better start dressing up in all pink. Sony threw a very pink party in Roppongi, Japan to celebrate the recent launch of the pink PSP. The crowds gathered, men and women. The women were there for the new shiny pink toy. And the men? Most likely for the shiny pink booth babes.
