As we
predicted, Sony is finally abandoning its failed Connect download service to move its digital media ambitions to the PlayStation brand. About 20 employees will be "phased out" as "Connect resources were being shifted to handle the needs of the PlayStation group." Timing on this restructuring seems in-line with the upcoming PSP Store to arrive on the system
later this year. Let's hope that Sony's effort with a media-heavy PlayStation Store is far more robust than the sparse offerings provided by Connect.

Half of the things on "PSP" Connect didn't work on PSP, and most of the content was drivel. I can't imagine it will be missed.

OK, so he made a typo ... c'mon, the Playstation store linked in there is a known thing. I also think that the Connect store was known to be dead, but it is good to have some closure, so they can focus on getting the best store for everyone ready to go.

Oh no! I've got a crapload of free song credits that I need to use. I was never able to get those ATRAC songs to work on my PSP. All of my Memory Sticks are of the "Pro" variety, and apparently the DRM'd songs only work on the non-Pro sticks. Who even has a non-Pro stick big enough to store music on?! Just another brilliant move by Sony.
