Win a party with Rob Zombie courtesy of Dead Head Fred

Vicious Cycle, the developers behind the upcoming zombie game, Dead Head Fred, have teamed up with Rob Zombie to offer a chance to party with the Devilish musician/actor/director for a very special screening of his remake of Halloween. If you win, you get to invite 50 of your friends for an all expenses paid party with a pre-release showing of Zombie's version of Halloween, which means the party would be in the next couple weeks.

Up to three people can win, which is unusually generous for these kinds of contests so sign-up while you can! A word of caution though, you have to sign-up for a Heavy.com account in order to participate. Won't cost you anything, but still a bit annoying.

Loco Roco Halloween demo

As promised, the Halloween demo of Loco Roco is out. European PSP owners will want to head over to yourpsp.com right now and download this ghoulishly themed demo. Everyone else may just want to download it from us.

1. Download the demo ZIP file.
2. Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
3. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable.
4. Go to the PSP/GAME folder.
5. Copy UCES00304-Halloween folder into the GAME directory.

Check out our new demos site:

Be a Death Jr. grim reaper for Halloween

Sure, Death Jr. 2 has impressive graphics, but you know what looks even better? Real life. Yeah. Real life has amazing graphics that run higher than even PLAYSTATION 3's highly touted 1080p. In addition, real life features some stunning physics and lighting systems that just can't be beat (although the AI sucks most of the time).

But one of the big disadvantages of real life was that it never let you play as one of the characters from Death Jr. Well, that is... until now. Smiffy's has just released their new line of Death Jr. costumes, just in time for Halloween. You can pick up just a mask, or you can go for the gold and dress up from head to toe as the grim reaper.

You can also dress up as Pandora, or as the priciest, but easily the most awesome looking, Smith and Weston. The game comes out appropriately on Halloween.

Two new downloadable demos coming soon

We <3 downloadable demos at PSP Fanboy. So, whenever there's news about a new demo coming out, we get excited and pay attention. According to the YourPSP French website, a Halloween-themed demo of Loco Roco will be coming out soon. It'll supposedly require a new firmware (2.82) to run.

In addition, according to Kingplayer, a demo of Ridge Racer 2 will also be available. Considering the lack of new content put into the sequel, what are the odds that it'll be a level that's in the original?

The demos are supposed to come out on October 26th. Will you be upgrading your firmware to play them?

Japanese hardware sales, Sept. 11-17: Will the bleeding ever stop? There's not a whole lot I can say to make us feel better this week. Last week, we were able to take solace in the fact the PSP made a nice jump in sales, but it actually dropped this week.

- DS Lite: 134,885 21,045 (18.49%)
- PS2: 34,189 14,307 (71.96%)
- PSP: 26,995 2,146 (7.36%)
- GBA SP: 2,330 226 (10.74%)
- Game Boy Micro: 1,244 557 (30.93%)
- Xbox 360: 928 166 (15.17%)
- Gamecube: 630 66 (9.48%)
- DS Phat: 478 580 (54.82%)
- GBA: 27 14 (107.70%)
- Xbox: 7 2 (40.00%)

The PSP got obliterated by the DS Lite, which sold more than 100,000 units. If that's not an ass whoopin', I don't know what is.

However, I believe Nintendo isn't the happy, happy company many people think they are. I believe something evil and sinister is lurking in the upper echelons of Nintendo, much like in Halloween III. Could it be the DS Lite actually uses subliminal messages to make people fall in love and buy it like crack in the ghetto? Yes, I know it may sound far fetched, but it's the only logical explanation.

Killzone to feature Infrastructure multiplayer, but not at launch

Killzone: Liberation is one of the most anticipated games for the PSP. The shooter will feature six-player Ad-Hoc multiplayer modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Assault and Capture the Flag. Not bad. But more exciting is the potential for Infrastructure, which will be made as a downloadble upgrade a few weeks after the game's release on Halloween. In addition to multiplayer, two more maps will be released at that time and a new single player chapter, with four new missions. I'm assuming that it'll be good and free as the downloadable content in Wipeout: Pure.

Even more exciting is knowing that downloads will be available throughout the year 2007 as well. Sweet!
