English Riviera screens are titillatingly funny

The upcoming RPG, Riviera: The Promised Land, has certainly gone on a long journey. It first appeared on the WonderSwan Color. Then, it was enhanced and ported over to the Game Boy Advance. Now, it makes yet another appearance on the PSP, with newly revamped everything. (Sounds like another RPG that's heading to the system.)

New screenshots from Atlus have revealed something we didn't expect: a surprisingly sharp-tongued script that seems a little heavily focused on the feminine figure. Seriously, you won't count just one reference to bust size in our new gallery.

Although based on years-old tech, these screens look pretty sharp. Good 2D never goes out of style, right? Expect more on Riviera as we get closer to its release next month.

Riviera: The Promised Land makes it way to the US

Like Disgaea, Riviera is a 2D sprite-based RPG that hardcore gamers seem to be entranced by. However, unlike NIS's darling, Riviera is actually finding a US release. It'll arrive in June, featuring new event scenes, a CD-quality soundtrack and a dual-language track for voice acting (wow!). That's something the GBA version never could've handled. Heck, even the DS wouldn't be able to do that.

First Riviera: The Promised Land video releasedBack in August, Famitsu broke news of Sting's Rivieria: The Promised Land, the GBA tactical RPG, being ported to the PSP. Well now, the first video has been released, and you can see it here.

Although, most of the text that accompanies the video is in Japanese, you can still get the gist of what the game is all about, just in case you haven't previously played it. While the graphics do look a bit crisper, the main "upgrade" from the GBA version is the inclusion of voice acting.

On Sting's official site, they have loads of Riviera PSP content available for download. C'mon, I know you're a sucker for cutesy 2D sprites!
