Disgaea,
Riviera is a 2D sprite-based RPG that hardcore gamers seem to be entranced by. However, unlike NIS's darling,
Riviera is actually finding a US release. It'll arrive in June, featuring new event scenes, a CD-quality soundtrack and a dual-language track for voice acting (wow!). That's something the GBA version never could've handled. Heck, even the DS wouldn't be able to do that.

I liked the GBA version enough that this is on my watch list ... I just wonder what we'll have to pay in load times for these nifty extras ...

I never played the Gameboy version but I heard it was good. So this will be a game I will have to look into. Plus I guess people can't say Sony hates 2D games any more. Because of all the different ones that are coming out on the PSP. Like the Final Fantasy Series.

Man I did not see this coming. I fully prepared to buy the GBA version if Riviera for the PSP didn't come to the states. Now Atlus is going to make my wallet cry. I guess we should take those gamestop listings more seriously.

Tristan,
Riviera, in my opinion, was one of the most colourful and solid RPGs on the GBA. Lovely little title, and I am certain the PSP version will rock; there's no rocket-science or theatrics involved.
It's just that I am a little exhausted with SD-chibi rpgs.

Hmm...this may be the game to make me buy the PSP again. Nothing else entices me on the PSP but Riviera was just so damn good on the GBA.

Wukong, if *nothing else* on PSP interests you, then why bother?
