After this little bit of news, Fry's just may become my new favorite hangout, despite the 25 minute drive.
One intrepid blogger from the wily depths of the Internet (which is our way of saying we have no clue where this guy is)
took a snapshot of an import copy of Me & My Katamari over the weekend, affirming our belief that some
prayers--no matter how petty, lame, or selfish--do get answered. It's true that it's an import copy, which means that
most of us who can't speak Japanese are fresh out of luck. But those bi or tri-linguists who are itching to flex their
character-reading skills may very well want to take a trip for some hot junk ball action at their local Fry's
Electronics branch.Me & My Katamari sorta kinda stateside

I'm the one that posted the story. I live in Ventura, Ca and found this one and only copy of Katamari for PSP at the Fry's in Oxnard, CA. Thanks for the coverage.

Fry's has been doing this for quite some time - they do mark up the price though. It's about the same as if you were to order it via Lik-Sang or Play-Asia.

Frys in the Dallas area has them also. They've always carried Japanese and Euro imports as far as I know. Why they never seem to stock Socom is the big mystery for me.

Jason B., you went to the Oxnard Fry's? I live in that city and that store is my favorite!! Man, I first saw a Fry's ad three years ago and was upset there wasn't a location reasonably close. But when that place opened up.. I spent a few hours there and let it all soak in. But seriously, the two things that shocked me were:
1) They carried the Freeloader disc for the Gamecube. In case you don't know, it's basically a bootup disc for playing import games on a Gamecube. Previously only available online, Fry's had the chutzpah to offer these themselves.
2) Import (PSP) games. Proving how far ahead it is ahead of the competition, Fry's blew my mind away when I saw BLEACH and Space Invaders from Japan. Now, I don't like those specific games, but you seriously need to offer the store chain props for its effort.
Fry's is better than any electronics/entertainment store ever made. Ever. Not just for the above reasons, but because of their selection and service as well. Oh, and their checkout system gives you the impression that you're moving fast, too.
