Space Invaders Extreme hits PSP as well

Should you really get excited over a new Space Invaders game? The answer is: yes. Originally announced exclusively for the DS, the PSP will receive a widescreen version of this hyperactive re-envisioning of Taito's arcade classic. The surreal graphics, speedy gameplay, and massive power-ups gave us goosebumps at TGS, and we think PSP will be able to more than pull off an equally intense experience. In fact, we'd much rather have a wide version of the game, than be forced to look at two screens at once. It's just easier that way.

The original game was 4 kilobytes. Obviously this will be more, but maybe this will be one of the new games they'll distribute through the Playstation Network Store?

Yea I would like to have games like these download on my psp just so i dont need to change disks.

that would be fantastic. i had never heard of this "extreme" version of Space Invaders until reading this post but just from that screen shot, this looks fun. i would love to be able to download it for like $5-$10 and play it on my PSP.

yah this is kewl not only the wider brighter better screen but in a higher resolution, this will be kewl! I have space invader ex for the GBA but it is SOOOO much nicer to play even that title emulated perfectly on the PSP.

Hmm, I was all set to pick this up for my DS, but I think I'd rather pick it up for my PSP I wouldn't really call notice to the DSs two screens, though. The only stuff thats on the top screen is what's on the left and right of the PSP's screen up there. I still can't help it, the draw of the wide screen is awesome.

Ya know, I got really excited a couple years ago when I found the Namco games for the PSP. Then I heard about Space Invaders: Evolution ( or was it revolution? ). It looked amazing! I thumbed my nose and blew raspberries at my DS fangirl wife pointing out how the PSP version was gonna blow away the DS version visually. Gods, I am now so horribly disappointed.
