it seems very long and tedious.
don't get me wrong, D&D fans will love it, it's just not for me... I will stick with Joan of Arc and FF Tactics 2, thank you

UI needs some graphical polish, but the core game looks decent. However it more than confirms that this is a pure combat game. If only someone would bring over Fallout/Jagged Alliance/Xcom as a tactics game : )

I hope they make those animations with a speed toggle or something.

The pacing does seem a bit slow, compared to something like Temple of Elemental Evil, but it still looks very good. I'm really looking forward to this - much more so than FF Tactics, but that is at least partly because I'm a bigger fan of cRPG than jRPG ... and that FF T is a (yes, enhanced) remake rather than new IP.

Not an FPS, RTS or action RPG. Cue the sub-18yo whiners.

I was looking forward to this, but now I'm not so sure. I guess I was disregarding the "Tactics" epithet and hoping for something along the lines of NWN.
The fourth commenter is, however, most definitely on the ball with the desire for a Fallout[: Tactics]/Jagged Alliance/X-Com rendition on PSP. Any of those would rock the proverbial Casbah!

OK, I had downloaded it this morning (GT is blocked at work) and watched it several times more ... and I'm more excited than before. I hope they attach a decent story, and some party interaction ... either way I'm there.

Awesome! This reminds me of the battles in the old SSI D&D games.. Got I miss playing those... I'll bet you can fit the entire SSI D&D series on a single UMD too... Hrm... :)

I agree with shanedude333... a new XCOM? for PSP? That'd rock my world.
Anyway. DD Tactics is looking sharp IMO. Waaaaay better than LOTR tactics at least. That one dissapointed me heavily. A little camera work and drama on attacks wouldn't hurt, tho.

I'm glad that they are keeping all the core 3.5 rules. It should make the game really fun for D&D fans. :-)

Jagged Alliance was announced for the Nintendo DS roughly 1 2-3 months after the system's release..... and it has remained an ether-adrift rumor ever since. I wish they would start porting more PC titles, instead of console titles.
Wish List includes...
Star Control II
Jagged Alliance
X-Com
Freelancer
Deus Ex
Fallout
System Shock II
...An' like that!!!

Oh, and P.S. -- If you can find "RebelStar: Tactical Command" for the GBA, grab it! I saw it for 10 bucks in a bin at both Toys R' Us and Best Buy. It's actually pretty hard to find in game stores, but easier to find at toy / electronics stores.
It's basically the tactical part of X-Com. REALLY fun title. Any title with "tactics" in it's title should have to include line-of-sight and obstructions. That's why I hated FFTactics. Why should an archer be allowed to shoot an arrow straight into the air, and have it come down on my head, 15-20 squares away, whilst I'm hidden behind a tree?!?! How annoying.
Oh, add "Age Of Wonders" to my above list, by the by.
