Famitsu now has direct-feed grabs of the PSP ports of Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II. Do they grab your attention? While this new "Anniversary Edition" certainly has some shiny new special effects in it, the price alone will determine whether or not I'll grab one off the shelf. Certainly, a brand new Final Fantasy game would be far more grabbing.

For me it’s the load times. The load times cannot be worst then the GBA version because then there would be no point on getting PSP version of FFI & II. Those enhanced pixels better look sharp and those CG scenes better be kick ass. Otherwise, might as well buy the GBA version and play it now.
Why I'm I even complaining though. It's pretty of covenant that this is coming to the PSP because that’s all I have right now is a PSP for my portable gaming needs. Also since the "Good" RPG department is currently lacking in the moment (until Monster Kingdom), any Final Fantasy on the PSP is welcomed, that’s what I think at least.

It will be interesting to see... I have recently tried the PS One version of FF1 (from Final Fantasy Origins) and it was just terrible... I'm a bit confused as to why ppl are drooling over PS1 games on the PSP. All of those that I have tried so far were awful. I guess I got spoiled by years of games on the PC and recently - a few excellent games for PSP. So all the PS1 stuff I have tried so far seems quite dated...

I love the look but think this is somewhat risky - I mean, they are basically pretty-ing up a GBA game ... as Andrew says, it is price alone that will decide. $30 for both I'll pre-order ... $30 each I'll pass.

Actually the "enhanced graphics" don't look half bad. Check out the website to see what I mean.

I still do not get why Sqaure Enix thinks people want old games on the PSP. Why not add 3D or some thing if they really want us to have these games. I know FFT is old but is looking better then ever this looks ok but nothing I want. Why not bring out more games like Crisis Core.
I think it would be cool to get a 3D remake of FINAL FANTASY Chronicles. That game had FFIV and Chrono Trigger and tell me who does not want to play a 3D version of CT.
Maybe even Fantasy Anthology would be cool to get a remake with 3D graphics it came with FFV & FFVI.
I know these remakes are no FFVII but these games would be better then those one. Plus I think the remake of FFVII needs to be on the PS3 not the PSP.

I would so love to get this! - I didn't really start into the Final Fantasy frachise until # VIII & even after all these years I never bought VII. Well I went & purchased the movie advent children & realized I needed to play VII to really get into the movie. I had the purchase the game online at more than the original list price, because it's just not available anymore at any of the retailers or second hand shops.
So of course I'm going to buy this lastest release! My biggest challenge will be to not play this at work. ;)

Oh, and a remake of FF7 is heresy. You monkeys can't leave the vintage legacy of anything without raping it for all its worth, effectively turning it into a disenchanted relic. This'll probably go over some of the shallow-people, but half the charm, magic, x-factor of FF7, is its impact vis-a-vis its time and era. Stop trying to recycle good memories and tarnish them with your soul-less 21st century garbage.
Besides, FF6 was nastier. That could use a PSP remake with some enhancements. (Hypocrisy for teh win.)

Yes it does look amazing, I been playing the franchise since 1 and it has come along way, as far as CT in 3d, it is very sad that Square Enix cease and desisted the Chrono Trigger: Ressurection, for those of u who have never witnessed it take a look http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/media/ , it was an incredible feet that should of came out , u can still send a letter to square begging them to let them continue, i still have dreams of what could have been.....

Finally! At least the characters don't look like the generic SD-form. Seriously, I am tired of PSP rpgs with the SD characters; c'mon! It's the PSP, and therefore, I expect solid character sprites.
