Famitsu is the leading voice in Japanese gaming. So when they say something is good, we listen. According to their reviews, the best PSP game of last year is a title that hasn't made it outside of Japan ... yet. Minna no Golf Portable 2 (aka Hot Shots Golf) took the prize as the best PSP game of last year. Scoring 37/40, it beat out other contenders like Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida (36/40) and Ratchet & Clank (35/40).
We're pretty sure Minna no Golf will find its way stateside in due time. But, how long will it take? It look Sony about half a year to bring the PS3 Minna no Golf 5 over to the US. We're probably going to have to wait just as long for the localized PSP game. Now, will they bring Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida over? We're not going to hold our breath.
The best PSP game of 2007, according to Famitsu

Crisis Core is coming here in March. We've gotten Monster Hunter, just not Portable 2nd G.

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd scored 34/40

I never expected Crisis Core to be a "very good" game anyways. It's above average at best. I think the only reason it was a huge hit is because its FFVII line... and as we all know, Japs loves everything FFVII.
MHP2nd is a great game, and am actually a big fan of it... but I have to admit that it's not for everybody. I'm still hoping that they bring MHP2G stateside, though.
Now, Minna No Golf. I must say its a great and fun game. I'm playing it right now. I hope they port it stateside immediately since I'm really having a hard time unlocking the secret characters (I can't read Japanese).
Though Minna No Golf is a great game, I'd rate Ratchet and Clank higher than it. Probably, its just a matter of preference.

Crisis Core is way to fast-paced for the Japanese audience . On the other hand HSG2 got a 10/9/9/9 from Famitsu :D

Hot Shots is awesome. It's fun, it's colorful, and has great/accesible gameplay for everyone. Guess that's why it's called "everyone's golf" , huh? Oh, and don't be deceived by the word GOLF, this game's actually a LOT of fun.
It's one of my girlfriend's favourite games, too, which is cool to say the least. (You know how hard it is to share videogame hobbies with most girlfriends)
So yeah, I hope this means we'll get Hot Shots 2 in the US. I've already played thru the first one about 3 times.
