Japan loves monsters and they love spies. The PSP-exclusive Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is sold out everywhere in Japan and Konami is struggling to get copies to stores. Will the upcoming enhanced European release meet the same success? Or will it stay on store shelves as in America?[Via The Magic Box]

In US it sold 136,000
In Japan its sold 270,000
Thats over 400K already in 1 month.
Hasnt released in EU yet, it'll get to a million eventually.
Good job, they deserve.
A sequel is apparently in development already.

Well I am no fool thats a silly thing to say. People have different tastes, I will eventually pick this game up and I am EXTREMELY glad it is selling well.

Actually Konami is the fools. They released those stupid card game versions first, and then with no advetising released portable ops. Those who didn't like the card game, simply bought Syphon Filter, Splinter Cell, and SOCOM. Konami's a day late and a commercial short.

i was thinking the same thing last night. no ads for what is quite possibly the deepest, most polished title in this console's history, a real killer app for the PSP. the rest of the series has been a high seller.
instead, we get talking hairballs and a dude walking around trying to find a girl. bravo.

Yes, it is quite sad when MG PO isn't selling well in North America.
Allot of people are pirating it, and that also pissed me off.
I don't care if they pirate anything else, but I want MG PO to sell well. But the cheap ass pirates won't even shell out, just for 1 game. 1 game.

I must be one of the few people that has played this who have failed to get to grips with the controls and the weapon firing system. Perhaps I have not gone deep enough however I still much prefer the prospect of original MGS emulation on the PSP.
