More early previews from the show floor reaveal a new installment to the Coded Arms franchise for Sony's PlayStation Portable. This unsolicited picture shows the new Coded Arms: Contagion getting prepped for play. We won't be able to formally get our grubby hands on this until tomorrow and Wednesday, but PSP owners will be craving some fresh titles coming out of E3. The handheld doesn't have the best track record for new and innovative games (erm... homebrew?), so hopefully this title will provide something that PSP gamers can sink their thumbs into.

Coded Arms is just the worst FPS I've ever played.
It's boring, it's always the same, it's uncontrollable, it has *NO FUCKING STORY* at all, it doesn't even have a single NPC and there's no point in playing it.

I found Coded Arms to be an excellent game in small doses. It's true that it has no story, but that makes it all the better to just pick up and play.
If this iteration is even slightly better than the first, I'll consider buying it.

I bought the first one a few months ago. Played it for about 20 minutes and then took it back to exchange for something else.
Unless drastic changes are made, I won't be buying the sequel I'm afraid.

The controls have a learning curve, but once you get the hang of them (and you do need to get the hang of them, and practice at it) then the game is actually pretty decent. I'd definitely classify it as a 'pocket' FPS, because its scope is somewhat limited, but for what it does, the game is solid and looks good. It's not HL2 or anything, but it works.
I definitely like this kind of control, even if it's just one analog stick, over the unbelievably irritating THUMB STRAP and/or stylus control for Metroid Prime on the DS... Which is an inherently better designed game, but the controls just negate the fun aspect completely.
