If you've been worried about your PSP getting scratched, whether it be on the screen or the sexy body of the handheld, we've got to alert you to a deal
presented on the PlayStation Forums. Seems the
InvisibleSHIELD products are all half off right now -- every model of the PSP has their own little protection piece, so knock yourself out. It might be a good idea, especially if you go rock climbing while carrying the PSP in an unzipped jacket pocket. Not that we've had that problem or anything.

I got one of these just last week. I ended up taking it off 2 days later, because I didn't like how it looked--really takes the shine away and felt kind of greasy, to be honest (I may have done it wrong, but it's not easy to apply, either). Plus, you can't use your PSP for 24 hours after applying--something about ruining the electronics\battery...

I had one on a PSP unit that I ended up selling. I personally think this product is great and better than any of the other screen protectors out there. I've bought one for my niece's iPod nano (1st gen) and I even sent out my cell phone to them to get a custom one made which they now offer for sale (Moto A1200 MING).
Also, they have a free lifetime replacement guarantee.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to buy one for my current UK ceramic white PSP-1000.

I just ordered the PSP Slim screen one (they have two kinds -- one that protects the entire front of the PSP and one that just protects the screen). They have a free shipping option too, it supposedly takes two weeks, but who cares. So the grand total for me was $7.48. Pretty good.

I love my PSP but I am amazed at how easily the screen marks. I wiped it with my cotton t-shirt the other day and left a scratch I can't remove. It's only faint, but it's there.
For those of you who don't already have some form of screen protection: GET SOME.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I'm careful to use a clean lens cloth, but minor scratches keep showing up. Must be pretty low density plastic or something. Soon, all will be well and protected!

The plastic surface of the screen and the black part of the casing are so shiny and the material is somewhat soft that it seems to hold every little bit of micro damage that cleaning seams to do. The cloth Sony supplied with the unit and an over the counter plastic cleaner (NOT scratch remover!) applied very sparingly to the cloth works best. I have mine in a very hard aircraft grade aluminum case with a clear shield over the screen and after 2 years it still looks great! If you use a little of the plastic cleaner under the clear shield, then "squeegie" the cleaner out from under the shield with the supplied "soft card" you can get the sheild on there so nice with out air bubbles that you cannot tell it is there even when the system is off! The aluminum case has saved my baby from all kinds of damage. All the way from scratches to being smashed because my boyfriend stepped on it! The blue anodizing is almost worn off in places and you can see a lot of scratches in it, but those are scratches that are not in my PSP.

I'm intrested in buying one of these but judging from the picture it looks almost as if the potector goes over the speaker holes witch is just stupid but I doubt they would design it like that... Also when you take it off would there be alot of sticky stuff from the shield?

I had questions about that too, read the site a bit. It tells you
how to remove it and what to expect. The liquid they supply you with
is mostly water, so I don't think itll be very sticky when you remove
it.
I just checked out the speaker part. For PSP Phat it seems they have
holes, but I can't tell by the PSP Slim picture if they cut holes into
it or not...I sure hope they do because I ordered the Slim full body
:(.

The Slim shield does, in fact, have holes for the speakers. Everything on the PSP Slim is accessible once the shield is installed. It still looks ugly, in my opinion, though. Plus, if you take it off (as I did--too greasy, which may be my fault) it's basically garbage--can't see re-using it. Be careful applying--you could fry your PSP's electronics with that spray they give you...take battery out and keep PSP off for at least 24 hours.

I just received mine earlier today. All I have to say is WOW.
As soon as it dried (around 30 mins) I took a razorblade to it just for fun. There's not a single scratch to the shield. I'm simply amazed. I only have a single small air bubble on the screen. It looks pretty nice.
The only reason you should wait 24 hours is because of the amount of water you use to put this shield on. I didn't use too much, and it all dried within a few hours. I've been playing my PSP Slim without any problems.
