This year was filled with a number of fantastic stories on PSP from all kinds of genres. Whether you liked fantasy, comedy, or good ol' beat-em-ups, there were tons of stories that had you playing all through the night.
And the nominees for PSP Fanboy - Best Story of 2007 are:
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Nippon Ichi Software | NIS America

Nippon Ichi Software | NIS America

Disgaea tells the story of a long-slumbering demon, Laharl, and his attempt to reclaim the throne of the demon kingdom. Along the way, he'll meet a truly wacky cast of allies and minions. Sharp writing that parodies every aspect of the genre keeps things fresh. A unique universe filled with talking, suicidal penguins makes Disgaea not only one of this year's funniest games, but one of its most original.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Square Enix | Square Enix

Square Enix | Square Enix

The War of the Lions is a complex tale, filled with power struggles and political intrigue. The tale of the young knight Ramza is not easily forgotten, and the new localization for PSP adds tons of Shakespearean flair. The new animated cutscenes do a fantastic job of progressing the story -- one riddled with pain, betrayal, and the yearning to conquer it all.
The Warriors
Rockstar Leeds | Rockstar

Rockstar Leeds | Rockstar

Rockstar's interpretation of the 70s film classic is a winner. The tale of rival gangs trying to take over New York City is told through the eyes of characters you can't help but fall in love with. The cinematic flair that permeates the game is apparent from the very moment you pop in the disc, and continues throughout with fantastic writing, incredible presentation, and great dialogue that immerses you in a foregone era.
Stay tuned to PSP Fanboy on December 27th for the winners. Best of 2007 image based off of work from Studio469.

I think it should be the Warriors or maybe FFT.
I just loved the original Warriors movie, so I'm hoping it wins.
No Syphon Filter?

I loved Syphon Filter's story too! I guess it shows that there were a bit TOO many good games this year.

I don't think ports should count. (Heck, this category has 2 PS2 ports and 1 PS1 port)

Am I wrong, or are all those games using stories that were already established in previous games or movies?
Anyway, that aside, I'd agree that Warriors is the best 'story' since the movie was a kind of milestone back in its day. Being old as I am, I remember when it debuted and a few incidents occurring at some theaters, spurring talk of movie violence begetting real violence -- Much like people are talking about video game violence these days.

The Warriors is a great choice ... Disgae and FFT are good to , but Logan Shadow could stand a chance to . Even though its not the strongest story , its still the best Syphonfilter story :D

...ok, where's the real nominees? Seriously, you're going to nominate two ports and The Warriors for best story of 2007? I could close my eyes, reach into my PSP collection and probably come up with a better list then this.
