Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is set to destroy America. The Japanese release was a massive success, selling over a million copies within days. With more than 350 missions, 700 weapons and 1,400 pieces of armor, Monster Hunter offers gaming that just doesn't seem possible on a portable. If that weren't enough to satiate a hungry RPG player, downloadable quests will be offered for those want an even longer journey. Could this game be too big for its own good?
Although the game offers so much to do and see, it's unfortunate that Capcom isn't adding Infrastructure support for this massive sequel. Even with the pretty graphics and impressive-looking gameplay, the lack of true online multiplayer can be a deal-breaker.

A deal breaker? I wouldn't put it that way. At best it's a feature that's "nice to have", but not necessary. The game is best experienced with three other players sitting across from you and playing together, so you can yell out insults and chit-chat with. Playing over X-Link or infrastructure mode just isn't the same.

PSP needs more games that sport infrastructure mode. Monster Hunter could've been a staple title as a game supporting official online play; the fact that it draws so many players on x-link already proves this point.

Yea, I agree totally. The reason why it sold so well in Japan is because of the fact that you can find other players all over the country. For players like me in Singapore, it is real tough getting fellows to join me for a co-op.

Does anybody know if the first Monster Hunter for the PSP is as expansive as the second? I'm really cheap about my games, haha.

It is a deal breaker. I'm sorry that I'm the only guy out of my group with a PSP. I wish I lived in Japan and could walk down the street and not only find someone with a psp, but one with monster hunter in it.
Capcom needs to get hip to this so it can be smash hit in America (Which it is not!).

This game looks like it's going to be sweet.
I think it's inexcusable that capcom hasn't added infrastructure support yet. Like, c'mon...x-link???
