A PlayStation forum user, Kwopau, just got his hands on one of Sony's new blue PSPs, and boy is it shiny. Look at how you can see his room, reflected in the system's body. It looks so smooth--it almost looks like it's wet!
Interested importers can pick one up from Play-Asia for $199, the same cost as a US system.

When you first turn on a non-US PSP it'll ask you what language you want. Choose English, and from that point on you'll never see anything Japanese on it again. Most of the Asian colored PSP's start with firmware 2.81 just so you can't downgrade...yet. You can play any game because games are not region locked, however, UMD movies are. So you can't play any US UMD movies. Not that that's a big deal, because you can rip any DVD you like to memory stick.

Why is Sony being dumb and not allowing North America more then one color for the PSP. If I am not wrong there are going to be six soon out in Japan and Europe has three already. So why not the US.

there is a downgrader avaliable for ver.2.81 to 3.03. here is the problem though...you must have the unpatched Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories UMD in order for the downgrader to work. (you can tell it's the unpatched one because the upgrader on it is 2.0)
