It's that time of the year ... Because everyone else is doing it, we decided to let YOU the educated PSP Fanboy reader to tell the world (or at least me) what the real best PSP game of 2006 was. The ten selections you see here are provided by Game Rankings: these are the top 10 games, in order, to come out in 2006 (and that includes, for some crazy reason, the Final Fantasy VII movie). Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops was the critic's top choice, earning an 89 average score (making it the 25th best game across all platforms for the year).
I'm sorry if your top choice (::cough:: Gitaroo-Man Lives! ::cough::) didn't make the list. Feel free to leave a comment, glorifying your choice.

Killzone didn't even make the top 20 list according to Gamerankings. Strange, huh?

MGS:PO. Best game of the QUARTER. I liked Syphon Filter during its release. I liked LOCOROCO when it was released and GTA: VCS was and is a good game now. I picked Syphon Filter. If I could Pick Two it would have been MGS: PO as well.

Of the games on the list, I'd go with Tekken or Syphon filter.
I haven't played MGS:PO so can't comment there.
For games not on the list:
SOCOM2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Killzone and SOCOM 2 is awesome games. Much better than Megaman powered up or Lego Star Wars. Best on the list is Loco Roco, best overall is Killzone. The action of that game is so tight, you just completely immersed.
I havent played Metal Gear yet, my copy was snatched in the mail.

For me the best game is Medal of Honor Heroes, good control, great graphics and sound and 32 multiplyer Internet play..
I at the very least thinks it needs to be in the top 10.

"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children isn't a game." haha thats so true. megaman bothered me cause if there's a whole lot of action and bullets goin around, the frame rate died considerably so i was just like eh and traded it in 3 days later.

im surprised Teken didnt win. It gets rave reviews, but i guess the fighting game genre isnt wat is use to be. Well, my favorite is GTA. To me GTA is what the PSP is all about.
Metal Gear PO is a good choice. I like the GPS use in Japan. Now thats gaming on the go.

IMO, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is such an under-rated game. Great Graphics, controls fairly well for a FPS, and solid single player and multiplayer modes. I started playing MGS: PO not too long ago, and the controls just don't work on a handheld, at least not as smooth as Syphon Filter.
The MGS series may have better storylines, but it might be a little hard for people to get into if they haven't played any of the other titles, like MGS3: SE for an example.
Anyways, I could go into detail why I picked SF over all the other choices but I won't.
