Sony has been sending out some really interesting surveys lately. First, they asked which features could be removed from the PSP (hopefully, users said none). Now, they're asking users if they're interested in mobile television for the PSP. They give users two options: streaming using LocationFree player, or by subscribing to a mobile TV service for $10 a month. Personally, the latter seems much more enticing.
Considering how Japan has an official PSP media download service called PTV, it makes sense for Sony to expand that to other markets as well. What do you think: should Sony offer portable TV for you? And would you subscribe at that price?

I'd like the subscription tv service. $10 a month though? Idk, I have a Dish DVR, and I usually record stuff. Plus how would the quality be? and service availability? I want to be able to watch tv while on road trips cross country and around the great state of Colorado. (cough* watch tv at school *cough)

PTV....wait a sec, isn't that the TV show Peter sets up in Family Guy? :p
PS : I'd love to see this! As long as it comes to the UK.

and how about using that "always-available" "cell-phone technology" wireless connection to let us play online GAMES from anywhere!

Can't they just make an antenna like on the Gamegear? It could come out of the USB port.

That would be a great deal if you could get anything. A hell of allot cheaper than what I pay for cable now.

thats a bad idea, I hope less people vote for that... paying that much for TV is just stupid, just like the stupid ring tones... its just ripping people off ... if it were a free service , then thats a different story, but as they seem to want to get people to pay for the same stuff over and over again, and a lot of people are gullible enough to fork out the cash for it, then its a loose - loose situation for the masses..

Perhaps most of you are still living with their parents and don't pay for water, electricity, and TV, so they don't know it actually already costs you that much, at least :-)

I... think I *WOULD* pay for a tv service like that... but then again, I'm in Canada, so we're sure to be excluded should such a service be made available (to America).
I just bought a Neuros 2+ mpeg recorder 'cause I find it more efficient to watch tv on my PSP, during commutes & such, and I don't have enough time in front of the tv to keep up with shows. So yeah, a service like those 2 options would rock! (if available in Canada....)

just bought location free TV on ebay for 100 dollars and love it. It's all I need. Why not take the already digital cable I pay for and broadcast it on my PSP? With 2 video inputs I can also update and stream my TiVo too. Would not want to pay 10 bucks a month of a streaming TV service. After 11 months, I've just spent more than LocationFree TV!

Do you people somehow magically have wi-fi access all the time??? I think the cellular tech is far cooler, because you get a phone signal in more places than a wi-fi one.

i think sony is making these polls so that more people would but psps anticipating that they can watch tv but then sony ends up not releasing it and the buyers are stuck with a nice beautiful shiny tv-less psp :)

Yeah why not just sell an antenna with software for the psp that allows you to watch tv, i'd pay 50 bucks for that.

I love the $10/month ... would be awesome. But first, why don't they hire someone to fix the Sony CONNECT store. It's the worst.
