The original Killzone on the PS2 was a bit of a disappointment for many in the gaming community. Sony fans were cheering it as the "Halo killer" for their system, but the game couldn't live up to the hype when it hit store shelves. So, I'm always a little cautious when posting news about Killzone: Liberation, the exclusive PSP follow-up. While it looks absolutely marvelous, a persistant fear nags at me, making me wonder if we're getting our expectations a bit too high again.
Of course, it's hard not to get excited when the video footage is so tantalizing, or if IGN previews the game and says "And this is, frankly, one of the finest experiences on the PSP." After an impressive CG intro, the game jumps into some intense top-down shooting, where you will have to utilize all of your skill sets in order to survive. The preview mentions that levels take about 10 to 30 minutes each, and aren't too easy: you'll be dying quite a bit. Multiplayer seems to get a good nod as well, especially now that it will feature infrastructure. With sweet graphics, good gameplay, and downloadable content, it seems like Killzone: Liberation will hit all the right spots when it comes out this Halloween.

[SARCASM]Metroid Prime: Hunters?! Oh, no! Terrible game... just terrible. I mean, that game is so bad, that it actually plays like a PC-FPS; how disparaging. I am apalled with this title for having the creamy articulation that is almost on par with the highly revered "mouse and keyboard" combination that still puts PC-based shooters in an entirely different league.

I think the point is made.
Firstly... Killzone will not bomb, because it has yet to exhibit signs of being bombed. For a PSP title, it'll be a solid leeway of quality and relief, and that is exactly one of the primary factors that'll be considered by the gamers. PS2s iteration was specifically hyped up as a Halo killer - fans had a certain expectation that was responsible for contaminating the formula. This PSP rendition will most probably do fine-as a PSP game-which is still a prediction, but one that is well estimated.
And secondly... don't bash a solid game that pushes a weaker consoles limits to the degree of replicating a Quake III-level intensity, coupled with an equally articulate control scheme. Metroid - the title will have the respect of any intellectually honest observer, for being able to match the PC-level of control on a friggin’ portable of all things! I know Nintendo fan boys get on your nerves, but don’t let that contaminate your objectivity.
Cheers.

This game looks incredible - I can't imagine how it couldn't be worthwhile from the gameplay vids.
Metroid Prime Hunters isn't a proper comparison to this - an FPS vs. an ISO shooter? I mean, MPH is nice - well laid out and the graphics are great, but I do not find the controls 'just like a PC FPS' at all. A touchscreen is not a good thing for all game types.
Don't let the Nintentrolls pollute another comment thread. Just keep checking the news for this game and see if there's any more in depth previews!
