The tips just keep on coming in today, and I love it! * Beck Black Tambourine
* Black Eyed Peas Pump It
* Chemical Brothers Star Guitar
* Fatboy Slim Gangster Trippin
* The Go! Team Bottle Rocket
* Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl
* Hoobastank Born to Lead
* Junior Senior Take My Time
* Missy Elliott Lose Control
* New Order TBD
Two additional songs will also appear on the games soundtrack:
* Junkie XL Breezer
* Stigmato Inc Reality Check
If this list is indeed true, it appears that Lumines II will be hitting for a much more mainstream crowd. I'm still waiting for more Japanese music to pop up, but for now, I'll take whatever Lumines-related info I can get.
[Thanks steve!]

You know, there is a reason I refuse to listen to radio...music like this. If Lumines is abandoning thier killer music style and going with mainstream music I'm ALREADY sick of...well that just bites.

Would I send in bad info? Of course not. ;) The list is direct from the press release e-mail.
From the release:
“With some of today’s most popular artists involved, ‘Lumines II’ is an amazing project,” said Michael Ryder, senior vice president of global production, Buena Vista Games. “Combined with an exceptional game design from Tetsuya Mizuguchi, ‘Lumines II’ delivers an exhilarating experience.”

Really great job, steve. Your tip helped us beat Joystiq by two hours. HA!!! Now, I have to figure out how to award these "star" things that I see everywhere.

One of the few good games on the PSP, and they fuck it over. Atleast there's still Traxion...

i love how so many people complain that the game is "fucked over" just because of the soundtrack.
i'll be honest... i don't care much for the soundtrack in Lumines... i mean, it could be good or bad, i pay more attention to just playing it (to the point that i mute the audio sometimes).
so how about it guys? wait until the game is out, THEN complain about it's gameplay?

I was the only one who stated that.
Games like Rez and Lumines stand out because of the music and visuals they provide. They introduced alot of people to great new music. Not nonsense they hear flooding the radio day to day. It's a fun puzzle game alone, but it's still taking alot away from it.

Eh..it's not the whole track listing, and it won't be exclusively American music. So I guess I'll give it a try.

Not screwed up? The press is saying that Lumines 2 will be nearly identical to Lumines except for the addition of trendy music. Considering that Lumines is now becoming available on other consoles, charging $40 for the exact same game with crappier music sounds pretty screwed up to me.
