Merry Christmas from the Patapon tribe
New LocoRoco demo is not-so-new

Do games give you the Christmas effect?

Remember when you were a child and Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrated came around, the excitement that filled your every fiber? The anticipation and obsession for the event and when it came, you were drenched in a euphoria that caused you to speak louder than usual, or move around excitedly. I still get that feeling, but now it's brought on by games more often than events. Awaiting the next AAA title and the first time it boots up on your screen still has a magic to me that I can only describe as the Christmas effect. Nothing else fills me with this sort of reliable joy like gaming does and it got me to wonder how many other people can relate to this. Do you get butterflies the day of a big game release? Is your face froze in a permanent smile as you take the cellophane off your latest game? Or is one game the same as the next to you and while you enjoy it, you're not overwhelmed by the experience? Have any games on the PSP made you feel this way?
Fake blog admits it was "too funky fresh"

It looks like the now-infamous Sony blog, "all i want for christmas is a psp," is going to keep it real. Shockingly, the blog writer "isn't a real hip-hop maven." The apology states that the blog will now be used to give "nothing but the facts" on the PSP, but we're sorry, Sony. No way you're going to compete with us!

Secondly, you'll see Sony's latest ad in Asia, trying to promote all things Sony. I think the message is: buy Sony products, don't get turned into a Borg. (Oh, and in passing, I'll make note that my PS3 is officially broken. Damn. I guess I have to send it back in.)
New Loco Roco & Final Fantasy VII demos to arrive in time for holidays

We PSP fanboys love to play demos. We've been blessed with a plethora of demos for Loco Roco, but it seems like they're not done quite yet. A key observer on the PlayStation forums noticed that YourPSP described plans on releasing a Christmas-themed demo of Loco Roco to supplement the Halloween demo that came out about a week ago. Considering how the game is about eating everything in sight, wouldn't a Thanksigiving themed demo also be appropriate?
Another noteworthy demo to come out later this year is the highly anticipated PSP-exclusive Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Jeux-France reported about a week ago that an issue of Famitsu reveals the producer's intentions to have a playable demo available by the end of the year. If it comes around the time of the other Loco Roco demo, it seems like PSP fanboys will have a lot of free demo playing on their hands this holiday season.
