Worldwide PSP releases for the week of July 20

Okay, so there are no new games for North America this week again; however, if you've been keeping watch on E3, there are tons of awesome games to look forward to in the near future. We're talking Resistance Retribution and Super Stardust Portable. (Hands on impressions coming next week!)

Hi PSP lovers,

I'm hoping you can help me out. I've, technically, owned a DS since forever, but rarely turn it on, just when a good old-fashioned RPG comes out (DQM:J, FFIII, etc.). So I've been eyeing PSPs for the last year or so, but find myself on the fence about getting one. I'm really stoked about a few games, namely Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, FF Tactics, Pirates, Jeanne D'arc, Locoroco/Patapon, and Ghosts & Goblins, but am not familiar with anything else as spectactular.

Have there been any incredible games released so far this year? Don't tell me about sports, platformers w/o Mario, or GTA titles, since I'm not interested in those. (No Lumines, either, please.)

FF7: Crisis Core, Ace combat X, Metal Gear Solid Ops
God of War CoO, Syphon Filter: Logan Shadow
Brave: new traveler, Tales of World, Sega classics colections
Star wars Renegade Squadron, Final fantasy 2

Thats are the games i own (and are ordered by what i liked more) , and they all are pro, well Tales of world is a grind orgy but they are very enjoyable. there are another games availables that i wish to play

2 Price of persia ,Tomb raider, Silent hill, Spectral Souls
Valkirye profile, 2 Metal gear acid, The Warriors, syphon filter dark mirror

and then we have the future games: Star ocean 1 & 2, tales of rebirth (hopefully), Star Ocean Portable, Valhalla knigts 2, Yggdra Union, Star wars TFU, Resistance, Kingdom hearts birth by sleep and the most important: FINAL FANTASY DISSIDIA

Ok, not all these games are from the recent year, but still; they might be of interest to you:

- all of mac's recommendations are great
- Wild Arms XF: great srpg similar to jeanne d'arc
- Warhammer 40K : Very nice turnbased strategy action, if a bit short...
- Brave Story : Nice old style Jap RPG in the vein of FF
- Disgaea : Another nice srpg for your satisfaction

The problem is there isnt much games for psp. So you will be stuck to those ones.

Crisis Core is awesome. Plus if you're a FF fan, you can hack it and play classic FF playstation 1 games on it. That should be enough to keep any RPG hound busy for a year or two.

Oh, and Jeanne D'arc is an awesome SRPG. Better than FF Tactics IMO.

If you like RPG's, whether it be SRPG or JRPG, or any other RPG, even action RPG, you cant go wrong with a PSP, so put that DS away, or better yet, trade it in. You won't regret it, I know I didn't :)

I would only add to the above lists: Popolocrois, and Dungeon Siege. FWIW, Monster Hunter Freedom2 and Pirates! are really fun games.

(FSK405K) wow, what a troll intro. omg, fan-boys need to be shot execution style. the ds has good rpgs and the so does the psp. the whole fan-boy console wars bullshit is so pointless. people really need to grow up and wasting energy on it. and joystiq doesn't help much either, they just add to it. i give up. i'll be happy playing games on both handhelds while grown immature men fight over which one is better.

It kills me we aren't getting the Sora no Kiseki games ever here.

Sony should pick them up if no one else does. (Of course, they won't even pick up their own RPGs from Japan)

Madden! Don't forget Madden! That game is so big, Sony has a special PSP pack just for it. I mean, wow, Madden is really a great exclusive!

(Actually, while I am being sarcastic, losing Madden would really be the death knell of the PSP, that's what did it for the Saturn)
