Christmas. Never -- not even once -- have we seen these cards available at a retail store. This is easily one of the most demanded items from our readers, many who don't have a credit card to use for the PSN. Thankfully, support for these cards will expand in September to stores we've actually heard of.
According to the PlayStation website, these pre-paid cards can be found at Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and Rite-Aid this September. So whether you're renting a movie, drinking a Slurpee, or buying some condoms in a rush -- keep an eye out for these PSN cards.

That was funny, anyhow when i first bought a psp I wanted to get beats but I didnt have a credit card. I mean I'm in my last year of high school, do I actually need one right now? As for the psn card I was dissapointed when they werent released. Should have been released same time the play station store came out. Bright side is, atleast its coming out...

I never understood the reason for these cards. Everyone has a debit card or credit card. And if you don't then you are either out of a job and shouldn't be gaming, or a kid, in which case your parent's should be buying PSN content for you.

Actually, you'd be surprised. Most teens do not have credit cards. I think this is a great move for the Sony team.

You can only use credit cards for PSN content, these cards allow you to use debit cards to pay instead.

i just don't want to start linking my credit card to an account. its already linked to amazon and itunes, and i'd rather not even have those.

Well I've seen then at my 7/11 for a while now. Xbox Marketplace Points are also sold at 7/11.
This is great news for the younger audience who don't have Credit cards. I for one with be using these cards when I need to. But for the time being that there are a limited amount of good content on the store, I'll wait and see whats in "store" for the future.

If you're in the Midwest (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois), PSN cards are available at Speedway convenience stores.

Any news on whether or when these babies are coming to Europe? I kinda need them because of the absence of credit card.

Can I please add the amount I want to my purchase wallet? e.g. I have £1.99, and Warhawk Operation fallen star is going to be around £3.99. Why can't I just add £2 rather than a fiver?

It would be a lot cooler if they made them available worldwide and priced them accordingly to each country. They should also put up more quality content on PSN, only then will they actually start thinking about ditching UMD's.

At least something really good.
