An avid PSP Fanboy reader, Joe, sent us in a great tip about this upcoming PSP RTS. It's called Galaxy's End, and will support not only Ad-Hoc multiplayer, but Infrastructure as well. The graphics look to impress, and the gameplay looks fast and fun. So what's the problem?
There's no publisher for this game. It comes from a new dev team called Tiki Games, and it seems publishers are wary of supporting an original IP from an untested team. However, this game looks like it has some awesome potential. Check out the trailer, after the cut, to see for yourself. What do you think, PSP Fanboy readers? Are you interested in this game?

This game looks really neat. The psp is in need of more RTS.

RTS is tricky on a console - so far there hasn't been anything very good. That said, I'd *definitely* give this one a shot. Looks like a nice idea.
I wonder if they could 'self-publish' - the GBA game 'Mazes of Fate' was having a hard time getting retail space so they went as an Amazon shop and through eBay. Not going to be big number sales, but might at least get them going.

Hell yeah, this looks awesome..
Are there any RTS games for the PSP currently? I can't think of a single one!

No - just a couple of mediocre Turn-based games (hopefully D&D Tactics will break *that* mold!) ... and the DS only has one pure RTS - Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires ... dreadful ...

I detract my comment about Castlevania, because this is the news for me!

oh yeah, wow...this looks good, but its going to control like crap. Just wait till Blizzard brings Starcraft and Warcraft to the DSlite for a true handheld RTS experience.
Not this though.

That definitely looks cool. I hope this gets published.
Btw I'm certain the ds will never see a starcraft or warcraft game, unless it was severely watered down.

Hmm, Interesting. Let me just say that I am NOT a PSP Fanboy, but I do love RTS' and this one looks pretty good. I would put down $30 for it, but not $40.

@4: Actually, Warlocked for the GBC was a really good RTS, so it really can be done on handhelds/consoles, although I'm surprised that they didn't think of doing this as a DS game...

The game looks good, but I am not a fan of consoles RTS due to the control scheme. If they have a solid set of controls this could be a must have for PSP owners.

If they do this right, I'd buy one for me and one for my buddy. We play PC RTS games all the time and both have PSPs.

I already said to myself when I saw this blog: 'The words "DS" and "Starcraft" will be already posted by some drooling Nintendick'.
I was right.
BTW - DO hold your breath (please?) for Starcraft, Warcraft or any other decent RTS on the DS. Because -big surprise- the DS IS NOT good for those kinds of games. You need a bigger screen, more pixels and better than a 3" plastic stick on a 3" screen.
I got one thing to say to you PSP haters who maintain the DS is such the ultimate RTS platform:
IGN
GAME: Shogun Empires
RATING: 2.5 (Terrible)
Now, do I really think a PSP RTS would be as good as a PC with mouse? Of course not. But it's certainly not tailor made for the DS, either...

The condemnation is useless anyway. This is an RTS game, which means you're not expected to execute articulate diagonals and what not else. Oh yes, but of course, you guys are talking about competitive environment - multiplayer. Well, your opponents will suffer from the same control-limits, so the overall gaming experience will be levelled.
All in all, I wouldn't mind this experience. Why are people being such pessimistic dicks about this. Sure, you won't have the speed of a mouse and keyboard, but we know that RTS games can be moderately comfortable without those features. So long as my opponents have same level of control vantage, I am not one to complain.
You know, I didn't believe this some time back, but there is a general negativity on the PSP blogs, and it is annoying. Oh, and just so I can get ruffle some feathers; StarCRAP and WarCRAP are done! I'd much rather take the above game over those two recycled concepts. Hell, my installed copy of Star Craft uses the Gundam Century patch.

Yep, I've been both amused and irritated by the pervasive and illogically tenacious anti-PSP sentiment on sites like Kotaku and Engadget/Joystiq for quite some time, now. Hell, even THIS site was getting pretty obnoxious until they shuffled some of the bloggers off to DS and Wii Fanboy (cough) and brough in Yoon and Bailey.

On an additional note, I'd like Command & Conquer: Generals on PSP. Maybe the controls would be iffy to implement - I don't care. I want it.
