Of course the DS version of the game was based on the PSone version...

Yep, looking forward to this, as the DS edition of RE was, for me, anyway, a big letdown.

I love RE but no thanks. I expect nothing less than a port of the GC remake at this point. I guess my expectations have been made too high.

Saffie, you can download without involving the PS3. See here:

I hope Sony gets Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Mana, and Megaman Legends I and II on that list soon. Suuuuuuuch good games.

Err, what'cha talking about? The PSone emulator was created for solely one purpose: TO PLAY FINAL FANTASY VII!
Yes, that's true. :P The other games are irrelevant.

Yeah, I'm shocked that there is no FFVII support there either. But FFVII wasn't the only reason. Don't forget that there was FFTactics too.

Thank you so much Gattsuru. I wonder how they'll fix the L2 & R2 for PSP.

But the visuals and controls killed it. RE on the DS Lite looks absolutely horrible, and it doesn't lend itself well to the DS control scheme at all.
RE was made for analog, and barring some screwup in how the PS1 emu reads the PSP analog nub, it *should* work better (and look better).
Also, there were some tweaks to the DS edition to try to set it apart, although it was, basically, the same old RE.

I am seriously afraid of getting my hopes up for PS1 emulation. GT1 was my first videogame true love, and I think unless they retune some of these games for the widecsreen display on the PSP (which I seriously doubt), they are going to look like crap. I cant tell you how much I hate watching standard 4:3 video on my PSP.

I'd guess they'll have a zoom/stretch mode (ala video) option.
