While the Japanese may not like Loco Roco, they love the Densha de GO! series. And who wouldn't? By looking at the trailer, it appears that the game simulates the experience of riding one of Japan's great train lines. Yes... you heard me correctly. There's nothing I like to do more on my daily commute on the train than to play a game pretending that I'm on a train. Exciting.
If you want some hardcore train riding action, take your pick: there are multiple entries in this series, each focusing on a different train line. Gotta catch 'em all? You can buy either Osaka Kanjousen, Toukaidosen or Chuuousen Hen for $40 each. Or not.

...less than two seconds of research would have told you that Densha de GO! is a train simulator. You have sim-level control various trains in the same way you control planes in a flight simulator. There is a dedicated controller for the enthusiast as well.
And this is not an out-of-thin-air game either. It's a long running series in Japan.

scaught is completely right. But, is being right... funnier? I think not. Sorry if I chose to play the humor up more in this story than usual.

I have the Yamanote line version, and the driving portion of this train sim takes as much skill as any racing game I've played.

They should have one for the NYC subway. It could be
pretty exciting.
With raving lunatics, heated cars in the summer, trying to predict if
the mayor is expecting a terrorist attack he'll tell us about a year
later, being suspended over raw sewage, cursing the management who
cook the books for fun & profit, and of course being tossed around by
the crack-head conductors could make a really scary game. Scarier
than all of the resident evils put together.

Sounds like a cool concept but i'm left wondering... Is it really a japanese train sim if there are no guys shoving you into the train?

shouldnt the title be "train DRIVING" as opposed to riding. since, you know, riding train take about as much skill as breathing, while driving one is a bit harder.
