Original Transformers actors to voice movie game

Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) may be playing the voice of Megatron in Micheal Bay's upcoming Transformers film adaptation, but he won't voice him in the game. Normally a cast change for a movie-based game is a bad thing, but this change may actually please fans.

Frank Welker, who voiced Megatron in the original animated series will reprise the role for the game. This means that the game will have the original voices for both Optimus Prime and Megatron. Activision has said that the reason for the voice change was to please Transformers fans. While I don't doubt that motive, I'm sure they saved a few pennies by using Welker instead of Weaving.

Transformers PSP in disguise

Savage Entertainment is working on a PSP Transformers game based on the movie. Savage has previously made Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Scooby Doo for the PSP, so they have experience with Sony's portable. Based on Micheal Bay's upcoming Transformers movie, Transformers: The Game the title will feature Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream among other well known robots and give players the choice to play Autobot and save the world or Decepticon and try to take it over. Each Transformer has their own set of skills and abilities and players can choose at any moment to move from robot to vehicle form.

Over the course of the game, players will travel through fully destructible environments and each character's scale and weight will affect how they fight. You'll use range and melee combat to fight your way to your ultimate goal. The console versions are being created by Traveler's Tales of Lego Star Wars fame and all versions are said to have similar content, which is very good considering how well Lego Star Wars worked on the PSP. Of course the PSP edition has exclusive content. This time it comes in the form of an expanded storyline and multiplayer.

The last Transformers game (for PS2) was quite enjoyable and I have high hopes for this rendition. Anyone else looking forward to this game?

Terrifying memory-expanding device

This diagram illustrates what could be one of the ugliest peripherals I have ever seen for the console. It's like a Transformer gone wrong. With this attachment, you can stick not one but two Memory Sticks into your system. Personally, I'd much rather buy a newer, larger Memory Stick, especially considering how they're not too expensive these days. On the plus side, you can have that obnoxious cord stick out of your PSP and pretend you're Inspector Gadget.

Chimp My Ride: new Ape Escape racer

(That, loyal readers, is the BEST headline EVAR created for PSP Fanboy. You can applaud my creative genius in the comments section below.)

Anyways, it appears that Sony's branching out the Ape Escape series into the competitive mascot racing genre. While details are scarce, it appears that what separates this game from other mascot racers is that the monkeys don't drive go-karts... they ARE the go-karts. Maybe the development team was inspired by the upcoming Transformers movie, but this diagram should explain it all:

Check out the official Japanese website to get more details and screenshots.
