Homebrew scene quickly jumps on PSP
It didn't take long until the PSP was hacked by the homebrew scene. In April 2005, one month after the US release of the system, major strides had already been made. Wipeout Pure's internet browser could be exploited. With this information, hackers began to understand the EBOOT, and the directory structure of UMD files. Japanese firmware 1.00 was easily cracked -- in May 2005, a "Hello World" program was released for public consumption. The scene quickly exploded.
