In conclusion ...
Hey Sony, these are five things that we know you can do with the PSP. Best of all, all of these updates don't require a hardware change: just a firmware update, for everyone from the PSP-Phat to the PSP-Dim to the new PSP-Brite. We know you can do it! Don't let us down.

Half of those ideas are the same idea. Store, store, store. I don't disagree, mind you.

i like these ideas but the most important thing for me is don't make me use a PC. i have a ps3, shoot my ps2 hooks up to the internet and has usb slots, make it so the psp dosen't have to jump the PC hoops when all i have is wired connections

Your suggestions are so brilliant that, if implemented, I would actually go out and repurchase a PSP.
However, one thing I took issue with, even as a greedy consumer, was the fact in your conclusion you brush off development of these facilities as a mere firmware update.
While I realize firmware is indeed way, way easier than hardware, I would much rather Sony spend the money to implement these changes correctly, as opposed to just schlepping them out there.
It's almost as though the media is setting them up for the kill. Bait them with the easy solution, and when they implement in poorly, they get killed in the press.
Ultimately what I would like to see is a systematic roll-out of these suggestions, starting with the easiest, which I would guess to be putting up more games more frequently, and capitulating (well, never *really* capitulating for the sake of even more improvement) in the most complex, which I would guess is a system for homebrew development and distribution.

If even some of these features were implemented (PSN integration - both for store and friends list, maybe trophies), I'd buy the new PSP bright. I have the fat 1st gen, and won't upgrade because I don't use it enough.
If Sony could add these features in, and fast, I'd buy a new PSP. Right now, they just seem incompetent.
