When the PSP Brite was introduced, SCEA had plans for two bundles. The first, which is available in stores now, is the Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack, which includes a silver PSP-3000, 1GB Memory Stick, a copy of Ratchet & Clank and echochrome download for $199. The other option, which was originally supposed to be available in November was the 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack, which included a black PSP-3000, 4GB Memory Stick and a download of Everyday Shooter for $199.
According to the PlayStation.blog, the 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack has been canceled before release. "SCEA has seen significant interest in the Ratchet & Clank Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack in North America, which includes the updated PSP-3000. As a result, we will be streamlining our PSP hardware lineup and will no longer be offering the previously announced 4GB Memory PSP Entertainment Pack."
Sounds like a bad PR spin to us, but we'll manage. The Ratchet bundle looks like a good deal -- and as the post notes, a 4GB Memory Stick can be found on the cheap at many retailers.

So are they not going to release the black PSP-3000 at all? or are they going to release the Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack with the black PSP-3000? or the black psp-3000 just by itself?

Bad PR spin? That's a major understatement.
What does this even mean? No black PSP model? Or one without the memory stick??
Or.... black PSP coming when they figure out how to fix the screen problem. If they can't figure out how to fix it, black PSP coming anyway. Just later when all the noise blows over.
*DING* *DING* *DING* WINNER
Lord.... Sony could unleash a virus that turns us all into zombies & they'd figure out a way to spin it as a "flesh upgrade"..... [barf]

Ok, from the Sony Blog, Koller posted that the black PSP will be available as a Ratchet & Clank pack the same as the grey PSP (only of course, black) available in December. So both grey & black PSPs that have the same pack-ins.
That's... limiting. What if people only wanted the 4GB stick? What if people like me already have the R&C: Size Matters game? It's a very sad move for them to restrict variety in packs, going backwards.
I swear it's like someone at Sony is trying to undo their own progress.

Piano Black CORE to be released in December.
Obviously retailers in NA told them they wouldn't dedicate anymore floor space.
I still love my PSP.

Now would be a good time for non-Sony memory sticks to drop their prices and swipe some customers from Sony, who are clearly just trying to sell some extra memory by not giving away a 4 gig stick in a bundle.

bad move, Sony. I have a feeling that most people like me would want a black psp with a 4 gig stick, not this. You ruined my holiday

Wow, it ruined your holiday? You must have a fragile ego.
Just buy a core pack, and a 4GB memory stick, and stop being a drama queen.
The PR speak was obvious code for "No one was going to buy it so we're keeping the pack-in."

A core pack costs $170. A card costs $45. The bundle would have cost $200. It came with a free game, too. I guess it was just a $15 difference, but it's a pity it's gone.
