Sony previously pegged the PSP to sell roughly 15 million units for this fiscal year ending March 2009. Now, the company is saying they're going to crush that forecast by another one million units. This news comes in light despite issues with the newly released PSP Brite. However, Sony still has other models currently out on the market including the sleek Blue and Red Slim models that are expected to sell, sell, sell.
Sony's numbers in Japan have done amazingly well thus far this year, selling over 1.6 million units from April to September; however, if the PSP is to meet 16 million units by March, there's still a lot of work to be done worldwide.

Well, Amazon canceled all pre-orders and took the item down for the Black PSP-3000 4GB Memory Pack. CircuitCity.com stopped taking pre-orders and changed the release date from Nov. 9 to "Coming Soon". If they want to hit those high sales figures, pulling a SKU before release day is not the way to do it. Especially when so many people had it pre-ordered. Someone should report on this.....

Well it's better for them to pull a issue-laden product off store shelves, rather than have more dissatisfied customers spread negative reviews and comments on psp3000(which will cause Sony to lose even more sales in the long run). I hope more stores cancel pre-orders for the psp3000, so Sony can fix the problem with the screen and hopefully release the 4GB bundle in time for Christmas or January.

Well here's one of those millions that won't get sold, mine. sony won't get my money for the 3000 untill there is prove to me that the problems with the 3000 is fixed. i'm happy with my 1000 and 2000 even thou there are still the problems with them that sony has never fixed since day 1. sony is not going to screw me again.

Precisely. Use that extra money and fix the damned screen, otherwise many of your faithful have had it with you, Sony... Not that you apparently cared much about the USA market, anyway.

They'd sell a lot more units if there were more interesting games. I was in an EB yesterday and all I saw was "Children's Animated Film or TV Tie In #24-B" or "Blood Death Bloody Kill Kill 9", and a couple of "Madden Sport Game For The Frat Boy And Alcoholic Father".
Maybe my EB just sucks. Maybe that's actually how the entire video game industry is going (in fact, the other console's game walls looked about the same). This is just my observation.

EB has an okay amount of games for the psp, and the new gamestop that opened up in certain Canadian locations. Yet they dont at the same time. I walk into gamestop and see the same title on the entire shelf ( Ace combat X) and I was like woah thats all they got? They had plenty of used games though. But mainly just the old games. On the other hand theres a competitor to EB games in the mall I live near called " we got games" and I was suprised to see there collection of psp games which was almost twice as much as the psp games. Although for the other consoles they pretty much sucked.
The truth of the matter is that I have to agree with aj on the fact that not many games that appeal to westners are coming out other than resistance retribution. We need more games like God of war or WipEout pulse ( In my opinion WipEout pulse was awesome).

good work sony. to be very honest i'm ALWAYS playing my PSP whether its on the go or at home. i just can't put it down!! it has so many great games! also while i do like grahpical games i prefer games with cel-shade or even sprites if it means more gameplay for all PSP owners.

With current amount of new good games coming out for PSP, not a chance, the only way that could happen is if Capcom would port Monster Hunter 3 from Wii. I really hope I'm wrong though.
