Interesting - A side by side comparison with the Phat and the 2000 would have been nice

i've been looking into the possibility of putting a 3000 screen into a 2000 model, and with these pics the chances are rather slim.
the first link is from the above article and the second link is from a side by side between the 1000 and the 2000. its clear that the 2000 and 3000 use different connectors

Not knocking your idea - but I am curious why you want to do that, other than to play with the hardware.

Because the screen is brighter.

I'm fairly certain wem003's question still stands.
The screen is brighter, we know that. It doesn't explain why someone who owns a 2000 would then purchase a 3000...only to rip the screen out and place it back into the 2000.
Again, the geeky "because we can" answer would suffice, but we're wondering if there's another objective being sought out here.

Strike Man. i wouldn't go out and buy a 3000, i would just buy the screen, which would work out to be rather cheap, for a 2000 screen its about $45-50. and reason why i would ever do this is for the screen clarity, one of things i found terrible about FFCC was the blur, with games such as Final Fantasy: Dissidia coming out, there will be a great deal of ghosting. i personally notice ghosting on my PSP sometimes but that doesn't mean others will.

The connectors look to be the same on all three to be honest.

Please note this tho...
Because the new screen is brighter/better, it uses more
power.
To make sure the battery life didn't change, Sony got to work making other components in the PSP use less power and succeeded.
My main concern is that if you did get the screen you would loose quite a bit of battery life since the PSP-2000 doesn't contain the modified components as the PSP-3000 does...

You can buy replacement screens for the 1000 and 2000 series on ebay, so one would think you eventually could buy a 3000 screen only, so you wouldn't need the whole psp.
