TGS 08: Monster Hunter Unite headed for US
One of the reasons (or the reason) the PSP is doing so well in Japan is due in no small part to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. As we predicted, the game is being brought over stateside as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. The Monster Hunter titles certainly haven't done as well in the States as they have in Japan. Will Unite change all of that? We doubt it, but we'll find out come Spring 2009, which is when the game is expected to be released in the US.

Monster hunter has been most successful on psp. I think one of the biggest reasons capcom move MH3's development to wii so it'd be easier to port it to the psp. Capcom would be crazy not to.

Whoa whoa whoa yourself, Nintendo boy. Many of us don't care for Nintendo products this gen, and we have a point. The DS and Wii are hype-machines with second-rate hardware (lack of HD and hi-capacity media matters). Their platforms are little more than slapped together commercials for cartoons and other licensed properties. What decent games it has are mostly franchise titles, and fewer still of these are anything really new or really GOOD. No, I do not think Wii Fit is a good video game.
The PS3 may not be selling like the Wii, but the latter is most certainly NOT the 'better console'. Like with so many crap products/movies/books/media in our culture that get gobbled up by people with no taste and no frame of reference.
That said, that it's taken this long to get this game over here speaks volumes about Sony's total apathy regarding the USA market - as if there needed to be any additional volumes added.

I was spurned by MHF2, it looked great but the sheer amount of investment required simply to complete even 20% of the game was a lot more time and effort then I really had the time to invest, and the lack of friends to play and show off with put me off of the multiplayer which would have made it a lot better for me. I don't think I'll be picking this up.

wah! wah! wah! the Wii and DS have second rate hardware! wah! wah! wah! this is ALL ever hear from you SONY FANNY BOYS! your argument is as weak as a sand castle buddy! if the ps3 and psp are SO HIGH AND MIGHTY in terms of games and hardware then why aren't they ahead? sure give me the speech about "the casual audience" but you forget that a VERY LARGE AMOUNT of the "casual audience" are "core" gamers who just so happen to have an open mind and don't mind playing casual games. therefore it is the "core audience" that supports ninty and their consoles casual games. denying that a BOAT LOAD of core gamers are the casual audience keeping ninty alive is like denying the fact that your a human being! next time think about what you say FANNY BOY! all sony does is STEAL STEAL STEAL STEAL STEAL ideas from nintendo! HAAAAA!!! whats the matter sony!? to STUPID to think of your own innovative ideas? HAAAA!! good-bye PS-SCRAP!

MH freedom left me with high blood pressure. The game has one of the biggest learning curves I have ever seen in a game. I have been trying to rank up to MH2 since the winter music conference in 06'. Yeah, that's right!!
It takes forever to get anything and the game cheats in certain parts to make it longer and harder. I just can't beat four horns. No one is around to play with me. This is not the type of game most Americans play. And any review of this awesome game is BS if it ain't part of your life for three month! You can't review this game unless you spend at least 30 hours on it. The game is too vast!!!!! It is enormous!!!!Now, the game becomes MUCH easier once you are aware of what you need. Then the EUREKA factor kicks in. You become one with the game and an incredible self-awareness kicks in. You must at some point go, AHA! And there at that point will you know how to proceed.
Take my word for it. This is one of the most incredible games ever programed in video game history. It is a world class classic.
Pray that I can rank up to MH2 before I retire at 75.
