I'm still not tempted to getting this. With them make the combat not a true Action-Rpg, it makes me aggrivated and I don't want to play it.

Why the hell are you judging the game before playing it?
The original FF7 wasn't an Action RPG in the slightest yet I bet you played it. Myself I found the battle mechanics in crisis core to be enjoyable and refreshingly original.
It is worth it. Go buy it.

I was like you Kyle, ff7 crisis core was the first final fantasy i ever played, i hated it by its cover a year ago when they were planning on releasing it and swore i would never play it. Eventually i did play it since i was bored out of my mind, suprisingly i liked it. Don't be another me, never judge a book by its cover.
That game was good and it encouraged me to play other final fantasys.

@ andwhyisit - Never played a FF game, only played Kingdom Hearts, which I enjoy that gameplay, from what I know about the FF series that its most recent games are true Action-RPGs, I thought that at FF7 they started Action-RPG FF games, sorry for my mistake, but I stand by that I dont' enjoy Turn-based RPGs.
@gurbinder - Well 2 different personalities aren't the same ever, you have your preference, I have mine. I don't judge anything by its cover, I seen it being played and I don't like the Turn-Based RPGs. I nevered labeled you in anyway, so why label me?

So....? Which game's turn-based here? Crisis Core's gameplay is very similar to Kingdom Hearts' gameplay... so you are not making any sense. That, or you haven't EVEN BOTHERED to check the game before bashing it.

Personally, i think the gameplay is POOR (and i'm a huge FF fanboy). I love the way you get to see Gaia (FF7 world) as it was, looking really nice with the shiny graphics n all), but the gameplay isn't a patch on FFVII and i'm sick of all the FFVII-related games not playing like the game they're supposed to be a spin-off of.
Still, it's a decent enough game, worth £15 ($30)

It is turn based, you can't compare it to the likes of Diablo or Warcraft where enemies attack constantly rather then having a moment of non action, performing an action and carrying out unavidable specials.
However, saying that, I love FFCC despite the fact I'm fed up with FF7 spin offs, I haven't even bothered to play dirge of Cerberus and I played FF War of lions breifly but couldn't get into it, just played boringly.
I hate the board game type effect turn based games give, roll a dice, you move, roll a dice, they move sort of thing.
However give CC a shot, its a superb game, I haven't even finished it yet, got lotsa games for PSP to get through, but its truely one of may favourites besides Monster Hunter and God of war.

You have a serious misconception of "turn based". Go and check a dictionary.

I know what turn based is, do YOU know what it is? They call it an action RPG, but really its the same old FF with just the ability to run around, you still have to allow enemies to have thier turn to attack, and there are still moves of which you cannot avoid, as far as I am concerned, its still turn based, a game like Monster Hunter would be considered not turn based, you have the freedom to avoid and dodge ALL attacks including specials, you don't have to decide whether to slash or use a potion this time, you can do both, not at the exact same time of course like anything.

You can dodge and roll and defend in crisis core too. You say it is turn based but as far as I can see there is no "turns" for the player, it is pure action based. The enemies have pauses between attacks but can you really fault the game for that when other Action RPGs use the same pauses for some of their enemies (else the enemies would overwhelm the player by not giving him a chance to strike back). The only disputable elements are in the form of Zack automatically running to the enemy for a short-range attack when you hit X and having to enter a battle screen to fight enemies. Spells take longer like with any other Action RPG that uses spells but unlike what you claimed the items take zero time to use. Crisis core may be different from other standard Action RPGs, but that hardly stops it from being one.

What I consider a full action RPG is a game like Monster Hunter and God of war to a certain degree, mainly because GOW requires you to take the role of Kratos.
I consider Diablo to be an Action RPG, I consider Oblivion an action RPG. CC is an action RPG which still keeps its turn based elements, all barring GOW allow you to run anywhere you like, perform moves whenever you like, use potions whenever you feel like it and avoid all attacks from an enemy if you want to.
FF has mainly always been turn based, the only thing they have done is given you the opportunity to run about, but if you think about it, nothing has changed since the turn based days, all they have done is made missing, defending and evasion more realistic, but the game still requires you to take turns to do things, its just that the vast majority of turns is down to you, when enemies perform thier special moves or unique attacks, you cannot dodge them like you can in lets say, Monster Hunter, monster hunter monsters don't wait around for you to attack, they attack non stop and all at the same time, they don't need to announce their special moves at the top of the screen before they do them, and they don't need to make it clear they are attacking with signs and logos, they just attack and its down to you to kill, you can avoid them completly if you so desire.
CC requires you to fight your enemies in order to proceed, then in order to use a potion you have to pretty much use up a gap of which you could be attacking, and if interupted its cancelled out. Then each enemy takes thier turn to attack you sequentially rather then simultaniously, just like a turn based game.
The game is great, but after playing so many action RPGs and FF games, even I know what the difference between a turn based and action RPG experience is. A true action RPG gives you the greatest extent of freedom in which you attack, but the downfall is that enemies have complete freedom, FFCC may give you the opportunity to run about, but I still can't help at times feel like I'm playing a board game.

LOL. You STILL say Crisis Core is turn based? And call God of War an RPG? You definetely lost it, boy.
Let's dig into the matter a little.
TURN BASED: Characters take TURNS (you know what a TURN is right?) to act. Let's put it in simple 2-year old terms so you can understand:
TURNS: I attack - you attack - I attack - you attack. Get it? It's preeeeetty simple.
Crisis Core is nothing like that.

Its not? Then explain to me, how is it I have a turn of which to attack, then they get thier turn to attack after a moment of standing around like pilocks, much like any normal FF game, and if its anything to go by, you don't need 1 attack or action to be turn based. Let me expalin:
In my battle against bahamut, I proceeded to attack it like anything else, I have nowhere to go and hide or escape to, I MUST attack the enemy before me. I then have the chance to attack, and like any and all FF games, the enemy will sit unmoving and wait for you to finish what you are doing before deciding to attack when they feel necessary, when they attack normally, I can often avoid thier attack, just like an attack missing in a normall FF game, only now I have the freedom to determine what misses and what doesn't -its still turn based so far, its just that I can control now- I continue thie 'I hit you, you hit me' pattern until once again, like any FF turn based game, a limit break or Bahamuts mega flare take effect of which either one of us must, like a board game or any turn based game stand there and allow themselves to be hit, a mega flare can NEVER, and I repeat NEVER be avoided, you can't roll and avoid it, its exactly like a turn based, the little explanation you have given me is exactly what I've been saying through the last few comments, the only difference is that there are more actions carried out between each turn. There is no such thing as an enemy ignoring you or attacking you without pause in FFCC, they wait, then they attack, like ANY turn based game.
Its not like War of Lions turn based style, I'll give you that, but the only difference between this and 'lions' is that this you can run around freely within that area, but it still works pretty much the way lions does, except you can now I can do 'NEARLY' do anything myself when I want to.
I'm playing CC now, and I was playing Monster Hunter a min ago, the two are vastly different, and Monster Hunter IS an action RPG.
