While the official changelog of firmware 4.05 is underwhelming, it does feature a key hidden feature: support for movie and TV service. According to this support page on PlayStation.com, "Support for PLAYSTATION®Store Movies and TV video service" has also been added in firmware 4.05. Undoubtedly, we're going to find out more about this service during tomorrow's E3 conference.
Stay tuned.

Why? They already have a very well-established movie and TV service, and now it's getting Netflix too. Sony's got a lot to catch up to tomorrow.

not really, i dont think that ff13 isnt a big a deal, but the netflix thing is, i thought netflix was going to release a disc so you could use it through the ps3?

I don't agree, Phillip. It is big news -- FFXIII is a system seller and could deter people away from buying it for the cheaper 360. But I think the hardcore Final Fantasy fans will no doubt by it for the PS3, so no worries :P
Netflix, however, is crazy! Especially with the chatroom feature.

Get used to it. Third party exclusives are nearly a thing of the past.

In Japan, it adds extensive 1seg recording features - like silent recording, long term recording schedules, and automatic lengthening if the program runs longer than scheduled or the time changes. For those without 1seg access, well, too bad I guess.
