Yes folks, PSP is again number one in Japan. After being knocked out of the top slot last week to second place by big brother PS3, the PSP climbs back to the top with 59,351 units sold. Despite a drop of 5,000 units from last week's 64K total, the PSP is still amazingly way ahead of its competition. Now, how did last week's top draw, PS3, do this week? It shot down to fourth place. It is, however, quite a success in that it's pulling 20K; usually the PS3 generates sales similar to PS2's current numbers.
PSP - 59,351
Wii - 41,037
Nintendo DS - 36,599
PlayStation 3 - 20,336
PlayStation 2 - 6,346
Xbox 360 - 2,555

I'm glad to see the psp bursting back to life. It seems that most people have already got a ps3 and MGS4 in Japan. How many weeks did the psp come out on top for?
Also, your comments systen is getting weird recently, sometimes it says there are comments on articles, but they do not come up. Sometimes my comments do not come up. The 'sent to your email' message does not come up either. And if it does, then the message does not get sent to my email. Of course, it could be just me, gotta ly off the taco sauce..... But seriously, its getting annoying. It happens alot. I have to copy all my messages, just in case.

Japan is pretty amazing when it comes to it's tastes. It's striking to see that even though Japan is much smaller (duh) PSP sales are higher there than in the States. I can't wait to see all the titles Sony says are coming up soon that we don't know about. I might finally buy that second PSP...

This ultimately may be good news for us in N.America. As Japanese developers start creating more and more games for the popular PSP, a percentage of those may get ported over to our market. Here's to hopin'.
