Ah, another Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G DLC. This week features a quest to face a trio of monsters: Narugakaruga, Tigarex, and Yian Garuga. The rewards will be items to create a rare sword and shield. Why can't Capcom, or any other company for that matter, ever support a game here in the States like they support Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G? We are just a tad bit jealous, aren't we?

as I post at every MH2ndG related news,
The monster Hunter Portable 2nd G translation hit 90% and there is now a beta downloadable patch, It only took about two months, those with hacked psps rejoice,

The above reply is exactly why companies never release stuff like that on the PSP in the US. Why bother? Everyone will just download the Japanese game+translation

no. the reason for it is that there has never been a G game to be released stateside.
the original MH was released in the US. G was not.
We never got MH dos
MHF made it here, but the JP side got superior content.
MHF2 made it here, JP side got superior content.
The JPs will almost always get the superior stuff. Support doesn't seem to matter,

How does 2G compare to 2? 'Cause I've seen that around at local stores and might pick it up if it's decent.

2g rebalances a few things. Tachi/long sword was nerfed a bit, certain weapons were nerfed. Buffs from a hunting horn are seperate from the general buff display, media instal, more weapons, Dual Swords are viable, more monsters, cat helper in fights. etc etc etc

It looks like they made it a few gigs over the umd's limit to begin with and then release chunks that didn't fit a week at a time.

Why doesn't SCEA and SCEE take the hint and push for an English language release of this game - and all of the DLC. They could drip feed the DLC over months to keep up interest in the game, oh, just like in Japan!
I am incredibly jealous that Japan gets such great support for the PSP, and in the US and Europe we get bugger all... We could spend just as much money on a game(s) if we were given the opportunity.

I agree with you completely. I want a blue slim, but not the metallic one in the bundle. I guess we have to keep reminding ourselves that Sony IS a japanese company, so it makes sense their big core stuff sells over there. Everything they port to the US is a completely new gamble because of cultural differences. Plenty of games don't get ported because they just won't fly here in the US. 2G however is one I think will.
