It's quickly becoming one of those games whose life gets extended further and further thanks to downloadable content, but we're not complaining because
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G deserves it. Their
latest downloadable quest is going up tomorrow. It's called "Challenge Quest 05" and allows hunters to get dressed up in chef outfits (muffin hats and all) and battle against some Dosfango for slabs of meat. Look for this content tomorrow and let us know if you found it most scrumptious!

For anyone who's played it: Isn't it a very long game to begin with? The videos I've seen show most combat sessions to take a long time, chipping away at the health of the bigger monsters a tiny bit at a time. So with all these DLC packs, I'm wondering what kind of time investment we're talking to do and see everything in-game?

In MHF2, I've beaten almost all the quests that come with the game, and my play time is over 230 hours.

Yup, its long, and it just got longer :) This is why, once you have MH2, you rarely need anything else, it saps your time away.

I`m playing through it at a fairly leisurely pace - I get a kick out of trying to make a large number of equipment sets and weapons. (Even if I`ll probably never actually use them in battle.) I`m up to 210 hours, and have yet to reach G rank. Nor have I gotten tired of the game at all. My husband and I play it every night when he gets home from work and our son is in bed.

I'm rockin' a sweet 250-ish hours in 2ndG already... With about 400 or so on my Freedom 2 file as well. It's a shame my number didn't carry over, though.

I'm sure you could jump right in to the actual gameplay just fine. But it might be kinda hard to make weapons and armor when you can't read what materials you need. But i'm sure there are plenty of guides online.

Thanks for the input. I happen to be in Japan for the next few months, so I was wondering if it'd be wise to pick up MH2G while I'm here. It's easier than importing an English MH2.

Does any one at PSPfanboy know if Capcom will bring MHG to the States. I most likely am the only one that bought the game over here but I still would like to play this one too.

"Reincarnation of rick astley", whereever you are, I AM NOT YOUR FAN!!!
Also I recomend this game to every1. A lot of people say its not very good, but trust me, keep at it and you cant put it down! Most of my freinds hated it, but after I persuaded them, they couldnt stoop playing it.
Many people also say its hard without freinds. Just use your head and get a weapon type you can use well and before you know it, youll be smashin every monster in the frickin game. Great swords are a popular favourite, but I slowly moved on to the hammer, which is slow, but I can manoevure it so well, it seems to go very fast, or maybe I should lay off the drugs.
Now.....what was I saying? Oh yeah, cake is an excellent subsitution of face lotion :)
