I just opened it with a hex app. It looks like the game needs at least a 3.80 Fw.
Hope this helps.

I'll admit, I was a little worried it wouldn't work. All for naught! My avatar's a bit of a giveaway, but I dig Sly, and this seems to be a great mix of the two styles of gameplay, while keeping the humor intact. Thankfully it's one of very few games (so far) that do button press sequences right (button presses first, action on screen second so I can actually watch. Hear that, Kingdom Hearts?) An incentive to keep your stealth is a nice touch and seeing past enemies (tyhrranoids!) was great too. Can't wait, nice job guys.

That happened to me too, but for me the reason was obvious. I was using the fake 4gb PRO DUO that came with my PSP.
Once I downloaded it onto my 2gb Sony card it worked flawlessly.
If I had to guess at the underlying problem..I would have to say it's corrupted data. Have you tried downloading other large demos lately? Maybe your card is dieing.

I downloaded the demo and I liked it. Its graphics and gameplay are very good. I didn't like the aiming system and I don't know whether the same problem was on Ratchet and Clank Size Matters or not because I couldn't play it. Its gameplay resembles Daxter very much. The demo is long enough. There are "pushing the right button on the right time" occasions. There is also a bonus stage in which you can play as Ratchet. I think the fans of platform games should try it.

I bought my PSP from a friend that bought a 4gb card from eBay...back when eBay was crawling with forgeries.
There are serveral things wrong with that card. For one, it has the MagicGate brand printed on it, but when you check it through the PSP menu it's listed as unsupported or unknown...I forget which, but both are bad.
It can't seem to hold onto more than 1gb of memory. Anything over and any data placed inside is guaranteed to be corrupted.
Also, the card has a tendency to get "tired". If I put too much data at the same time the card becomes impossible to write to. If you give the card a break it goes back to normal. I'm not sure why that happens.

"back when eBay was crawling with forgeries"
You mean there's been a time when eBay wasn't crawling with fraud?
I've seen a few cases at my work (university) where students have bought flash drives only to find that they're actually much smaller capacity than labeled and sometimes they up and die after the first few uses. One person actually got one that didn't work at all, and cracking it open showed why. It was just the end of a cut data cable, shoved into a little rectangular box.

@ Lars
Ah, very true.
It's been a while since I've gone to eBay for anything. I guess I just hoped it had gotten better since then...apparently not.

I don't know if you fixed it yet or what, but I just noticed that if the "System Language" setting on the PSP is on anything other than "English"...the demo will not run.
I hope that works for you, cause I'm out of ideas. :)
