These articles are pretty much writing themselves. Will PSP's incredible momentum ever stop? We don't know -- there just isn't an end to the PSP's domination as of late. Check out the latest weekly numbers from Japan:
- PSP - 92,411
- DS Lite - 48,796
- Wii - 42,435
- PS3 - 9,107
- PS2 - 7,108
- Xbox 360 - 1,283
For those keeping track, PSP sales actually went
up this week, and now holds a staggering lead over every other platform with about 1.5 million sales this year. Certainly, the Japanese market is very different from the American one.

Does anyone know if Sony makes a profit on PSP hardware? Or is it sold at a loss, like consoles, with profits coming from software sales?

I absolutely HATE Monster Hunter, I don't think it's fun at all... but still, I'm very happy it has strengthened sales so much in Japan. Hope that means we're getting more games!

Monster Hunter is a great game but for it to work in America it needs an online component.

Monster is a great game, with a bad learning curve, but when you get used to it, you dont want to change it.
"What do the doritos have to do with psp sales?" They represent how marketing stratagies and outputs differ to those in America and Europe.
Also, why is the company called Walkers in England, Fritolays in japan and Lays in Bangladesh? What are they called in America?

Whatever Nintendo paid for MH3 exclusive Sony should have doubled. It's frustrating that Sony does nothing to keep good games on the console. :(

so true.. but the pain of knowing that this game will no longer be coming to my beloved PS3 has made me despise Capcom. first, they just start giving away are exclusives. next, they pull a rabid out of their hat and let it be known that MH3 will no longer be coming to the PS3.
Capcom must have forgotten that Sony made this game what it is. Sellouts!!
