The upcoming Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 for PSP is coming out just a year after its predecessor. Can a game get significant improvements in such a short time frame? Looks like the answer is "no," if IGN's hands-on is to be believed. According to their preview, "if you played the first Ultimate Ninja Heroes, this appears to be the exact same game from what we've seen." In fact, "a few modes appear to have been removed."
There are a few noteworthy additions, however. The biggest draw must be the new story mode "Mujengo." The titular Phantom Fortress is what's at the heart of this non-canonical side story. For hardcore Naruto fans, the inclusion of a Japanese language track will certainly come as good news -- but will the almost untouched gameplay hinder the experience? Let's hope Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 isn't pulling a Ridge Racer.

OMG, this video actually made me happy. I tought they would just remake the crappy game that has been out in japan for a year now(since the story mode is the same and all), but in the video naruto fights with shadow clones and kakashi does raikiri as an normal attack insteaad of a special, good to see some changes.

yeah i know it's a port, i had the japanese one too, but in the video naruto fights with help of shadow clones, he doesn't do that in the japanese version and kakashi did the raikiri not in the same way as the japanese one, so they translated it + added some stuff i think

I'm not surprised by this. Ultimate Ninja 3 doesn't look like it's going to have significant improvements over UN 2. Hopefully Ultimate Ninja Storm won't be a disappointment. With the free roaming combat, I hope it's at least better than Tenkaichi.

Well almost everybody knows this is a un-butchered localization of the original japanese naruto game, but at least it seems it's bringing some new stuff with it. Optional japanese voices by themselves make my day tho. =)
