On the brand new Square Enix
members site,
Crisis Core's director Hajime Tabata noted that they couldn't fit everything they wanted on the limited size of a UMD disc. "In regards to the story, due to schedule and [UMD] memory concerns, a good deal of it ended up on the cutting room floor. Originally, the episodes were much more detailed. We also considered implementing a multiplayer competitive/cooperative mode using the PSP network function, but again, this wasn't realized due to scheduling concerns."
This being Square Enix, of course, we wouldn't be surprised if they ever released a "Director's Cut" version of
Crisis Core, which adds all these features that were removed. Sadly, fans like us will have no choice but to buy the game (again!).
Another addition made to the Square Enix website is this frustrating mini-game. Check it out after the cut.

I knew nothing about the gameplay until actually playing it, and was a bit disappointed that it's not turn-based and you don't have a party. After a while I started to like the new combat system, but was still sad that you only play as Zack throughout the entire game. Overall, though a little short, it was enjoyable, but it mainly just made me want to play FF7 again.

still playing the game but enjoying it. Yeah I wish there was a party also to control but since I've never played a FF game this is a cool game to start off as my first. I did the minigame and won the wallpaper but when i clicked on the 1280 version nothing came up and i couldn't go back.

It's not a spoiler. Before Crisis Core, everyone thought the Buster Sword was Zack's which he gave to Cloud to fight.

Is there some technical reason they can't make games longer or offer more content by using multiple discs/UMD's?
Seems to be common practice on other platforms why not with the PSP?

The site had the code for putting it in a blog, but it seems to be gone (that, or my memory sucks).
What all resolutions does that wallpaper come in? I make it a point to download all the official wallpapers I can find for whichever games (though I only use 1024x768), and I;d like to be able to flesh this one out, considering how friggin' bad I am at this app.
