A supposedly leaked PowerPoint presentation revealed some potentially new accessories from Sony. If this information turns out to be true, PSP owners can anticipate a new traveler case and Media Manager software this coming April/May. Both will retail for $20. More exciting, however, is the potential for a Skype Headset Kit. Currently, PSP owners must purchase two separate accessories in order for Skype to work. Providing one easy to purchase solution is far more ideal.
The same PowerPoint presentation also mentions that SCEA is planning to release the GPS peripheral in America for under $150. Unfortunately, when asked for comment, a SCEA rep informed us that "any information is speculation and rumor."

The GPS, along with the games/media player, is the reason that I want a PSP. That would be nice!! I may use my tax $$ to pick up a PSP slim and the GPS system.

They announced at CES:

but not really much of an announcement. No date that I could find...
if you are drunk then you are in a much better place than I am right now. enjoy!

Its almost unthinkable that you have to import 3rd party cases that work with the PSP-2000! I drilled holes in 2 normal US cases to make the audio jacks work. Seems like they purposefully want people to buy out the old stock of cases for the older model PSP - before they graced us with this stuff. Thanks Sony!

I just bought the 'Skype headset kit' the other day. I am in Europe though. I got it off amazon for £20 so that would be about $40. You'll probably get it for $20 though.

$150 for the GPS ? No way I'm paying that. I can get a proper GPS with most probably better maps for almost that much these days.

But would your "other" GPS have a huge community of modders, homebrewers, and hackers behind it?

from the picture of the graphics i have seen they are relly krapy. hey sony it is 2007 my laptops gps is better and the gps is three years old. a 5yr old could draw a better pic the that. i hope you can geocach with it and i hope it has a few waypoints if not i won't bother. for a buck and a half i'll save it up and get a real gps not a 5yr old's toy which shows you how to get to the outhouse.

I was expecting the GPS to come in at $75 bucks (like in Japan?). If it is $150 it will not sell. TomTom is available at that price.
