Ted Price, man behind the curtain at Insomniac Games, recently talked with
MTV Multiplayer at the DICE summit in regards to ... well, a lot of things. We're going to focus on one of those things: bringing
Resistance to the PSP. It's not like they're trying to port the PS3 title over to the PSP, though -- Price uses
Killzone as an example, noting how
Liberation wasn't a first-person shooter like its parent title, but was a fantastic game all its own.
While the possibility is there, we have no idea if Insomniac will follow through with this idea and how different a PSP
Resistance would be relative to the original FPS. What sort of crazy genre do you think could work? Maybe the Chimera want to battle mankind in a series of physical activities to prove who are the superior athletes. Some sort of olympics with a snappy title. Who knows. It worked pretty well for Sega and Nintendo!

Funny.
We've been told before, repeatedly, that Resistance is only possible using the Power of the Cell processor and Bluray.
Here's an article on the subject which goes into detail about the physics processing and techniques that make the game only playable on PS3.

Yet now we are hearing that the game can play on the PSP, a system less powerful than the PS2?
If that's the case, we could see Resistance on Wii.

Wow you bring up a really good point *heavy sarcasm*. Nobody's talking about a straight port to PSP you jack-ass. There talking about using the IP for a PSP game.

Well JayVe, it's obviously not going to be the same game. Whatever Resistance spin-off does happen is "possible" on other platforms, but unlikely considering Sony's support of Insomniac over the years.

Don't be silly. It could be anything from an RTS adaption to a top-down shooter like the Killzone Liberation game. There's lots of ways to bring big games onto handhelds besides ports.

PSP is more powerful than the PS2. Get your facts straight.
PS2 processor - 300MHz
PSP processor - 333MHz
PS2 RAM - 32mb
PSP RAM - 32mb (64mb on slim)
Sure it may run at a lower resolution, but the PSP IS more "powerful".

I liked the change from a FPS mode on KZ:L to TPS so I think I would like it the same way if could come out like that.

I would actually want a FPS and a TPS , and not a tactical game like KZ : L . It was amazing , but I would want something else for Ressistance :D

Resistance should TOTALLY go hit up the 'Patapon' genre =P.
Could you imagine? You got a bunch of snipers (Yumipon), melees (Tatepons) and a British Narrator (Hatapon).
And they fight onslaughts of messed up aliens and big-arse giant chimera =P.

it could work. its not like Insomniac isnt familiar with the PSP already anyway and i think Resistance is going to be a great series anyway. i think a TPS would work the best on the PSP but FPS's can also work. bring it on, id play it.
