European PSP owners will finally be able to get their hands on the Go!Messenger application this Friday. The service will go up on the PC PlayStation Network Store and will allow PSP owners who have the Go!Cam to communicate via video or voice chat wirelessly. The service is free, as long as you're connected to a wireless network. This doubles the communication potential of the system, what with last month's release of Skype for PSP, but still doesn't make it much more practical than a mobile phone.
We're intrigued to get our hands on the software to see just how useful it is. At least Go!Messenger will support fat PSPs, so people who don't intend on updating their systems can still talk to each other over the internets. If you're in Europe, that is.

I haven't even heard any updates on the Go!Cam for North America. Sure, someone said it's coming to America, but then the news stories on it just kind of died. I hope SCEA didn't forget about it...

i think this go!messenger thing could be a useful application for people who are lonely and need someone to talk to... on the other hand its still as useful as 3G on a mobile phone (cell phone).

I've got to agree.
Just like Skype, stoked on it at first, old after a while. Gathering dust. Of course that's also what they said about T.V. So maybe we're wrong?

Nah Nah, unluck NA peeps, lol, for once we get something first ^^
Speaking of which, this should have come standard on psps, like a texting service, why allow us to name our psps in the ninckname section if it has no chat system other then sending pics to other psps? Boring :S
They should have had something on there already, like a mini msn for psps and ps3s, so you just add someone and chat to them. Meet a person, like that person, if they have PSP, add them. Saves money too, phone texting costs :)

Bring on entitlement issue riddled US users?
I'm looking forward to this. Just hope I don't need a cam and can just use the service as a kind of SMS/email job.

Sony is going about this all the wrong way. They shouldn't be adding all this messengers to PSP (Skype, Go!) They should be adding PSN support to PSP. When you register a PSP to a PS3 it should copy over your PSN account.
Gees Go! Messenger has features even PSN for PS3 doesn't have. You can't leave audio/video messages. Fricken ridiculous.
And why is this europe exclusive? That's retarded on so many levels. That's just a slap in the face to everyone else. And it's just going to get hacked for custom firmware anyway

This reminds me, what ever happened to the official PSP Skype headset (or Mic). Wasn't Sony making one available?

No need for cfw if you aren't in Europe but you still want Go! Messenger... just go to pspdemocenter.org... They have Go! Messenger available as a direct download. You will still need to register for a BT account though but you can always lie and say you're in the UK...
