Don't you just love Final Fantasy? Enough to watch four trailers for their new VII spin-off title, Crisis Core? It's up to you, but we've put the first one above and the other three are after the jump, so as not to spoil you without clicking once or twice. We've got street combat, gate crashing, urgent calls, and some sort of apple cam. Pick your poison, but if you ingest them all, you'll probably end up slightly euphoric and very excited to play this game in March.
Meh, not a fan of the real time combat at all. It means you have so many fewer options, and just makes it a button mashing mess. Hopefully the story and presentation will make up for that.
Not true. I played the Japanese version of this game. The combat is actually really complex. Not only is there that slots mini-game that helps u level up Zack and all his materia, you also get to use all the materia in real time. You don't see the player in the video doing it much but if you roll around the enemy and hit them in the back, you do critical damage for those attacks on the enemy's back.
So saying that the combat is button mashy may be true (just like in Devil May Cry 4: you can beat the game by button mashing but you don't end up getting the most out of the combat if you do) but if you want to get the most out of the game, you gotta use strategy.

Would it be more fair to compare it to Rogue Galaxy or Dark Cloud than to DMC? It seems to be a bit slower with more emphasis on magic and whatnot, specifically evasion.
Which reminds me, I was playing Rogue Galaxy. Better get back to that...
Looks pretty good. I think that combat like this can get tedious but if they keep introducing new combos and/or materia to mix it up then I won't get bored. With this game, GoW, and Wild ARMS XF, march 08 has to be the biggest release month in the history of the PSP. I know I will definitely be buying them all on day one.
sorry this is off topic but i want a new game.
so if you had to pick would it be
1. jeaane d arch
2. silent hill
3. brave story
thanks for reading this comment and crisis core has already been pre-ordered i cant wait.
They're quite different from each other, but I enjoyed Jeanne d'Arc a lot more. Back on topic, I'm really hyped with Crisis Core, I say we need a demo!
It's pretty weird to see the enemies either standing around looking puzzled, or scurrying around like panicked ants, most of the time. I'm going to trust this is early in the game when it's supposed to be easy, 'cos if they act like that throughout, the action is going to feel pretty bland.
The person voice acting Angeal's voice sukz, sucks, SuzKZS ! What the hell?! He can't express emotion well AT ALL he sounds like a god damn robot. If this game doesn't come with the original Japanese voice acting it fails, and loses my buy (will just keep playing the copy I got with the crisis core psp).
That is so disappointing....Zack's voice on the other hand is pretty good.

D'arc, easily.
And I own all three of those games.
I got D'arc first.
It's the only one I've bothered trying to complete.
The only game in my PSP 24/7
Well until I get GoW/CrisisCore/B:HTS5

yeah, i think they made it a bit easier since its like 5 enemies vs one guy, or maybe it was on easy or something just for the demo
