[Insert random N-Gage joke here.] "While the Cybershot and Walkman are better selling brands from the Sony fold, Playstation almost enjoys cult status ... [and the two] would make a strong success story for Sony," he added. At this point we'd appreciate less talk and more action out of the Sony camp. If you're going to do it, then do it.
[Update: Sony has denied this rumor. "Jim Ryan was misquoted in his interview and we do not have any plans at the moment for a PlayStation phone."]

I really don't want to see a PlayStation Phone. If they did do it, we'd all know it's to compete with the iPhone.
I'm sure it would be a lot better than the N-Gage, but I think what Nokia is going to do is smart. They are making a N-Gage platform instead of another new model.
If Sony wants the PlayStation name to be in the cell-phone market, I'd suggest doing what Nokia's doing and make your Sony Ericsson Phones strong enough to support better games.

Sony talked about the PSP having VOIP before. Anyway, the PlayStation Phone abbreviates to PSP anyway. I'd prefer they just wait and maybe make the PSP-3000 have a built in mic and camera and other phone capabilities and such. The PSP features T-Mobile Hotspots, so why not go ahead and offer T-Mobile and other carriers for actual phone service as well. Anyone see what I'm getting at here? I don't want another portable PlayStation unit. I think a new PSP model should keep good things from the PSP and add phone features and such.
