Ask PSP Fanboy is back with an all new edition. Every few weekends, PSP Fanboy will answer your burning questions. If you have a question for the team, send an e-mail to andrew @ joystiq.com with the subject "Ask PSP Fanboy."
Q: When is Wipeout Pulse coming out?
A: From Paul Murphy, SCEA: "We have not made any official announcements with regards to a launch date
for Wipeout Pulse." Ouch! We want it to come out soon -- hopefully in tandem with the upcoming PSN release, Wipeout HD?
Q: How do I install demos?
A: Good question. We made a quick write-up for people like you. Check it out here.
Q: I am interested in Portable Ops Plus. Do I need the first Portable Ops to play this?
A; Yes. The new game coming out is just an expansion pack and will require the original game to play.
Q: What is the status on the larger battery lid that will let you use the PSP Phat battery in the PSP Slim? Sony announced it's existence, but when will it actually be released?
A: Since originally announcing it, Sony has pretty much denied the existence of such a battery cover. Chances of an official Sony cover is slim at this point. We're going to have to wait for third parties.
Q: I saw someone mention that they were able to play Youtube Videos on the PSP Slim & Lite with out converting to MP4. I was hoping you could confirm whether this is true or not.
A: Incorrect. The PSP browser will not access YouTube on either the new or old PSP. (This does not take into account for homebrew.)
Q: What's the deal with PSP region-locking? Does it only exist for movies or does it extend to games as well?
A: It's only for movies. Games are completely region free, so import to your heart's content!
Q: Does the Web browser in the new PSP Slim & Lite use the extra Flash memory?
A: Sadly, it does not.

Incorrect, PSP Fanboy. ;) You can play YouTube on you PSP, with a little homebrew application called PSPTube, no you can't play it with out custom firmware, 1.00, or 1.50. But that can easily be done with Pandora's Battery.
I can play YouTube on my PSP Phat without converting it, and the same is true if I had a PSP Slim.
Hopefully that extra memory in the Internet Browser Sony will add in a firmware update.

What the...? Sadly? How was the browser supposed to use the flash memory?
The browser, just like any software running FROM the firmware in the flash memory, uses the system RAM. Which, incidentally, was also doubled.
I thought this feature was supposed to end people's confusion...

I think this Q&A session was for those who were just either picking up and playing the PSP for the first time or planning to use it just for its intended(read: "legal")purposes.
...though it does irk me to know there's still no release date on WIPEOUT PULSE. :(

That's a THIRD PARTY battery cover, not an official Sony one. He made that pretty clear in the Q&A:

Andrew the answer for question#3 is incorrect. On one of the Kojima Reports podcasts I heard Ryan Payton say that people in the U.S will not need portable ops to play portable ops + but if you live in Japan you will.
You may want to check with Ryan Payton. I think it was in session 61,62,63 or 64 I cant remember which one.

Q: The European Portable Operations Plus will need the European MPO or will be compatible with the US MPO?
(Nobody seems to care?)

Your wrong about Portable Ops +
You need PO if you want more soliders - As in transfer your save over to PO+. But you do NOT need PO to play PO+
